Oh gosh...if you're gonna say fructose you don't need the corn in there, there isn't a difference between corn fructose or apple fructose or any fructose, it's all fructose. So either say corn syrup or fructose syrup...people just keep using all those words because they're catch-words that scare people...it's a goddamn monosaccharide, get over it.

Whatever you want to call it, it's still not good for you if you're trying to lose weight. My point is if I want sausage I don't want any additives just meat.
Lol, I won't argue but eating sausage when trying to lose weight probably won't help much either...I get rather...um...soapboxy when it come to discussing diets.

Sometimes I use fancy botanical soap. Is that considered an additive?

Hi Kitti....I am the same way. I do Zumba and low weights @ the gym but I get off the wagon because I LOVE junk food. If I feel like I need to lose 5 or 10 I swear by this diet. I found it online. I have the paperback and you can get it for like 6 or 7 bucks but this website has it all there. It really is fast...Just hard the first few days.

Atkins (low carb) is a good diet if you want to lose weight quickly. Restricting carbs (or avoiding them altogether) will certainly do the trick. However, once you've lost the weight - keep in mind that the minute you go back to your old way of eating (especially if your diet is normally heavy in pasta, potatoes, rice, bread, sugar, etc) you will gain some of the weight back. Atkins should not be done unless you plan on doing a modified version of it for some time after in order to help "maintain" the weightloss. This is just my opinion, of course. And I am not a doctor. laugh out loud

Nessy, I've done Atkins more times than I can count. I've always been successful with it in the short term, but ultimately I couldn't maintain the loss (for the most part) when I go back to eating somewhat regularly. I can give you lots of information on types of foods to eat and stay away from. Let me know if you want any guidance! wave

I have certain health issues (and possible future ones) that will get better if I get on and stay on the Atkins diet. I want to see if it works and not just for the weight loss.

The problem is I am very very picky when it comes to food and I'm afraid to try things.

I do need guidance and I can pay you in random things! BTW, do you have a facebook?

Payment? laugh out loud No payment is necessary! hug

Yes, I do have FB. I will PM you. Sly

Atkins is not good for the long-term. Modified Atkins is OK though, which (to me) means allowing yourself 3 or 4 "carb" meals per week at most. nod

Both my parents are food people (dietician and phd food scientist) and I'm a chemist that works for a food company in the research department, so when people freak out about certain dietary things just cause it's in the media it really bothers me because they don't really look into why it's bad.

The fructose thing bothers me because it makes up sucrose (along with glucose which is blood sugar) so anytime people put sugar in their coffee it's half fructose anyway, the syrup is just a higer amount of fructose, but it still has glucose in it. Idk it's just one of my pet pevs when people just freak out about one thing...because the amount of fat in your sausage is gonna cause way more problems than the corn syrup.

It's just all about balance to me, and freaking out about one ingrediant is not a blanced reaction.

Also if you need guidance and let me know your issues I can talk to my mom and she'll gladly help as well...the new Atkins is ok, but it is hard to keep weight off once you changed...PM me anytime or find me on FB etc.
