Hi Bronc..nice to meet you. I am the nice one of the group. These people pick on me all the time. I tried to leave the group, but they say that if I leave they will hunt me down and make rabbit stew. They do things to me, evil things, like making me go on a diet starting monday. They make me look at x-rated things..like toilet plunges. My innocence is gone.
OK seriously..nice to meet ya. I'm a loud mouth, lippy and well a general pain in the @ss.
I used to be the nicest, easiest-going rapscallion you ever met. But between these mean people in chat and the twatwaffles in the deals thread, I fire now, ask questions later, and sort through the bodies for gold fillings afterwards. We'll get along just fine!
As for the Target and Union thing Slowtech posted, during orientation, we had to watch videos, one of them was a 30 min video solely on what to do if we were approached by a Union asking us to join. Very dramatic things. Like our TL won't be able to help us anymore, our lives will fall apart, they will hunt down our children and eat them (not quite that bad, but they did make it seem as thought T would just completely shut down and no one would be able do work). It was quite entertaining.

on the other hand, walmart is notorious for extremely poor employee benefits. i don't know anybody who shops at walmart on a regular basis. if you do just the sales, not even coupons, you will do better at the supermarkets. and everybody has to either go to a supermarket or to a produce market for fresh fruits and veggies b/c walmart doesn't carry any and expanded targets carry a tiny selection, more of a convenience, one stop shopping in an emergency b/c you just happen to be there and don't have time to go to the supermarket. except when you have tq's
the largest retailer-owned cooperative in the US is a supermarket chain started here and is one of the most popular and you get the best prices when things are on sale. nobody can beat them. when it's not on sale you are better off buying at target or walmart b/c they are very expensive.
the supermarket market here is well-known to be highly competitive so that's another reason why walmart and target would have a very difficult time penetrating the market. within 10 miles i have 3 stop and shops, 4 shoprites, 2 superfresh, macaffreys, whole foods, wegmans, trader joes and acme. most people also belong to either sams, bj's or costco depending on who is closest.
but the biggest thing stopping them is the unions.
Only one new TQ sucks. Is this a bad sign???
But then again we are talking about Target, so what do I know?

I'm not off to T and Kroger, yet.
My DH has band practice every Sunday from 2-6pm, and I told the kids we would go see Cats & Dogs 2 at the $2 theatre while he was at practice, so he begged me not to do my Sun. morning shopping, so he could spend time with me before he left. So what's he doing? He's in the bedroom playing bass, very loudly, and I am in the living room with the kids, between picking up stuff and laundry
I couldn't even talk to him or spend time, even if I wanted to, which I don't at the moment. Between his 2 piles of torn apart electronics in the living room, and half of the kitchen, including the table, I'm a little annoyed with him. We've always eat dinner at the kitchen table with no tv and stuff, it's important to me, and we've been one of those families that have been sitting in front of the tv with tv tables eating dinner the last few weeks, since he got on this Tesla Coil kick. The only reason he's only taken up 1/2 of the kitchen, is because I keep kicking the crap to the other side, otherwise I wouldn't be able to do dishes or cook.
The real kicker, is not 1 hour ago, when he was trying to get me to stay home and spend time with him, I said, "why does it matter, you are so wrapped up in other things that if I even talk to you, you ignore me or don't answer." He said he still was able to "lay eyes on me" and felt that it was spending time with me. I told him it wasn't to me, it just makes me feel ignored and neglected when he acts like that. So I agree to stay home, and he does the same crap!
Him and his piles of crap are getting on my nerves today, can you tell?

in her pm she said she'd been on the thread about a month and a half. that was 3 wks ago. in her first wail, she said she's been to target 50 times and only had 2 good experiences. so let's do the math. she's been targeting about 9 wks x 7days/wk = approx 63 days and she's been to target 50 times. really? i don't think the deals have been that great that you need to go that often. and esp a newbie. money is tight and you go shopping that often? i think she's really pushing the envelope somehow and not owning up to it and then complaining they are giving her a hard time.
i know she is not telling the entire story. and from her pm, i'm sure there is an attitude problem. i think she's trying to get sympathy and validation that she is correct and they are making her life miserable but i'm positive the real truth lies somewhere in between.
i wish some people would go back to lurking. but if i say something again i'll probably get more than a friendly no point one day warning about mentioning private groups which wasn't the point of my post and i think a

Yeah bud, you won't ever use it. We've had it for 10 years and not once have you touched it. You're never going to fix it. It will sit in this room getting destroyed more. Leave the shit alone and let me clean.
I've cleaned almost non-stop since I posted earlier. What have I accomplished so far? Tanners room, Makena's room, and one load of laundry. Ugh.
