OMG I just had a niiiiiice cup of coffeeyummy Newman's Own Extra Bold from the Keurig with the new International Delight Breve Creme Vanilla Caramel Cream creamer. Mmmmmmmm. This stuff tastes like there is real whip cream and caramel in your coffee, no joke. It has almost the same exact nutrition info. per the labels as regular creamer but is made of real milk, cream, and sugar. What a nice treat when dieting! I could not believe it....if you haven't tried it, do!! I'd wanted to try them for awhile but have had trouble finding them in stock at our grocery store here.

So you all will laugh, but hubby and I have been watching that Hoarders show on Netflix, and it has totally motivated us to get our butts in gear as far as our house is concerned. Mind you, we are nowhere near as messed up as those people, but enough is enough. We each had assignments today to complete in the house before we could do anything else. laugh out loud I had to run to Target to get something to put all our DVDs in and managed to throw together a respectable run. Got my Bounce. bounce Rofl2 Hope to make it back at least a couple more times this week, we'll see. HT is doing their super doubles again, and it looks like they have a GM deal that has promise. Between T, Giant, HT, and Rite Aid, I am going to shop til I drop!!! And Lord help me if Safeway has any slamming deals!!!
1st, Hoarers: OMG I watched the new seasons episodes yesterday EEK! OMG There was a lady and her dad living in a house and SHITTING into plastic bags and throwning it into the corner....for TEN YEARS! Shitting in a bag and putting it in the corner closet!?! EEK!

2nd, HT superdbls: Can you break this deal down for me? I really never do HT because there are only 2 within the whole 6 county area buuut since it is down the road fron the 'good' Kmart I might just have to detour.

Oh my...I have one episode left in the first season. Its actually kind of disturbing to watch. That people would get themselves into these situations. I mean, I know its a mental condition for some of them, but to choose your junk over your children? One lady had 1,400 boxes of junk in storage and couldn't get rid of it, not even to have her children reinstated in her home. Faint Your stuff over your children??

HT is worth it if you have at least two cards to work with (this is assuming you have to drive a ways - if its fairly close, then its worth it even with just one card). Limit of 20 coupons will multiply per day, and this is register enforced, no way to get around it. I haven't gotten a complete list of the freebies this time around, but with the IPs currently out there, the GM deal looks like a great deal, especially with the current cats going on. Here are some scenarios I found on HCW:

8 Green Giant boxed $7.92 - 2 $1/3 IP and 1 $1/2 IP = $1.92 for 8
6 Pillsbury Grands BOGO - 5.97 - 2 $1/2 IP = $1.97 for 6
6 Hamburger Helper - $6.00 - 2 $1/3 IP = $2.00 for 6

- $6 instantly for buying 20
=($-.11) OOP (you'd have to buy something else to eat the 11 cents.

Get back $3.00 OYNO for GG
Get back $3.00 OYNO for Pillsbury Grands
Get back $3.00 OYNO for Hamburger Helper

Uses 7 of your 20 coupons for the day

Second Transaction - Day #1
8 Green Giant boxed $7.92 - 2 $1/3 IP and 1 $1/2 IP = $1.92 for 8
2 yoplait Plus yogurts BOGO - $2.85 -2 $1/1 IP = free for 2
2 yoplait Fiber One yogurts BOGO - $2.85 -2 $1/1 IP = free for 2
2 Yoplait Smoothies - $7.50 - 2 $1/1 IP = $1.00 for 2
6 Pillsbury Grands BOGO - 5.97 - 2 $1/2 IP = $1.97 for 6

- $6.00 Iinstant savings
=-($1.11) - will have to buy something to eat the overage

Get back $3.00 OYNO for GG
Get back $3.00 OYNO for Pillsbury Grands

Uses 11 of your 20 coupons

6 Hamburger Helpers = $3 after $0.75/3
6 Green Giant Frozen Veggies = $1.94 after $1/3
2 Yoplait Fiber One = FREE after coupon
2 Yoplait YoPlus = FREE after coupon
2 Totinos Pizza's = $1 after $1/2 coupons

Total = $5.94 - $6 Instant savings (should be fine because of tax)
Receive, $3 & $2 catalina's = FREE plus $5 Money Maker

Don't know if your in a larger city or not but you might look for a new & used store. I found one in the inner city near me. I swear all the employees were missing at least one front tooth (including the women) but was able to purchase a brand new Sears SS refrigerator with the $2200 price tag still on it for $475. The only thing wrong with it was a hairline crack inside the refrigerator lining and a small scratch on the side which isn't even visible where we have it setting.

Though I have to say my DH wasn't sure whether to be proud of my frugal find or to criticize me for going to that store (or more precisely that area) all by myself.

Of course there is always Craigslist as well.

Dreeme: Good luck on the interview! If I was called in for an interview, they would see me walk through the door and say "Oh, hell no!" LMAO

M2C: If I plan on visiting a store often, I normally do a test run, but usually with less than 5 Qs. Like to see if the cashier can read and write Wink But the stores I visited yesterday are too far for me to make it a regular date, so I just went right for it. Worst thing that can happen is I have a higher than expected OOP.

I was able to get 2 towels yesterday Whee k1 was no problem

Finally..someone else has jumped on the towel train!! I have at least 18 of them. All the old towels went to the animal shelter. Now that you have tested the waters. go forth and get more towels! They are nice towels. And who doesn't like new towels?

Ooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmgggggggggg

target called!!

Interview at 9:30 in he morning!!!!!!

I applied last week also, no phone call yet Frown I use to work @ a different T so I thought that would help my chances some. I may call them tomorrow.
went to bed last night thinking I was going to go for a bike ride once I took the kids to school....not gonna happen now, i woke up feeling like crap...feels like a sinus infection coming on or its something that the kids brought home from school! Frown I just want to lay down but I need to get my house cleaned up before its time to pick the kids up.

I dont remeber who it is thats having issues with DD and the bus... Thats so sad that she comes home crying, how old is she again? I would have my ass up @ that school raising hell for sure. This is one reason I have always taken my boys to and from school. Ds1 is in 7th and DS2 is in 2nd and they have never ridden the bus. I have seen and heard the bus drivers yelling @ kids on buses... last year this one lady would yell @ the kids everyday while the bus was sitting there waiting to leave the school. she would say things like " all of you better shut up and sit down or we will sit here all night" .... those poor kids Frown I really hope that you find out whats going on during the bus ride. Hopefully its not the kids being mean to her and its just a mean bus driver...if its the driver you can raise hell until something changes..kids are harder to change especially if they have parents that havent taught them right from wrong. I always talk to my kids about discrimination and how there are so many different forms of it. So I hope that some of what I try to teach them they take to school and apply it during the day even if they have friends do it. hug

You can also see if there is a Habitat for Humanity Restore [habitat.org] in your area. Always amazing what you can find there. It's never fun having to spend big $$$ on appliances when it's not planned, so hoping you can find a great deal.

I bought some towels last week at a Target that seems to train up Jedi. Wink 5 new pretty striped towels. Need more because with 4 kids, we go through lots of towels.

And I'm sorry about your washer. Hope you can find one that is reasonably priced!

OK, teeth advice from my Target peeps.

My tooth hurts sooo bad. I had a cavity in Jan and the dentist said it prob needed a root canal but he would try the filling first. Now it for sure needs a root canal. Dentist also said he could just pull it for $75.00. So do I pay almost a grand to keep it and do a root canal or $75 to pull it? It's in the VERY back. Do I need it? Feels so weird to have to decide if I need to keep a tooth. I'm only in my mid thirties. Is this normal?

I need to decide ASAP cause it hurts like hell.
Quote from setsail :
If it doesn't have an opposing tooth in your bite, I would say pull also. As others related, years ago I spent $$$ having a root canal and crown done on a lower left molar. Had to have it pulled a few weeks ago because the tooth shattered under the crown. It will affect my bite so I have to get a bridge or implant. I'm sorry you are going through similar issues.
i used to work in a dentist's office so i'm going to recommend the opposite and say try to save the tooth if it's in good condition esp b/c you have many more yrs to go. it's always better to have your natural teeth as long as possible. also if there is a tooth on top that bites down on it b/c it may drop down and you may have to eventually get that tooth pulled also. i don't know how good your teeth are in general, but if you end up losing other teeth, you will need that tooth in the back to anchor a bridge. otherwise you will end up having to getting an implant, which is even way more money plus the bridge, but even being able to get it depends on the condition of your bone, whether it can be done or not.

my dad ate way too much candy when he was young and i think was missing teeth by the time he was 16. he's had a partial denture probably since his 20's. he had to get an implant a few yrs ago and he's 80.

you should have a heart to heart talk w/ your dentist and see what he/she thinks your chances of success are. if he kind of goes back and forth, i would ask him/her if it was for himself or his immediate family, what would he do.

also, for those who have wisdom teeth that are partially erupted or whose kids are in their 20's and still have wisdom teeth, get them extracted earlier rather than later. when your wisdom teeth are partially erupted, food gets caught back there and nobody ever is able to brush well all the way back there. you end up getting a huge, huge cavity in your back molar. i've seen it so many times, including my college roommate way after we graduated. she told me she had a huge cavity in her back molar and i asked her if she had a wisdom tooth back there and yep, that's what caused it.

it is so much easier to get your wisdom teeth extracted in your 20's than in your 40's. i have been in so many surgeries that have last over 3hrs b/c your bone is less flexible and denser when you are older. when you are in your 20's it usually takes maybe an hr or less to get 2 out, the surgery is way less traumatic and you heal so much faster. when your kids are in their 20's and have a good job w/ good dental insurance, they can pay for it themselves. that's what i did.

I thought all the diet talk would show up where you have your thread (elsewhere) and not here. Guess not.

It's not that I don't need to join, but I'm not emotionally motivated to do it yet. Most of you have someone else to eat the extra crap you have in your house... not me. This is when I need Jillian Michaels to show up and intervene (BUT all my stuff would have to be donated and not just thrown in the trash). For you oldies, I look a LOT like Brandie that INAA posted about, but without the hairdo.
i'm not going to be on any formal diet per se. i'm just going to use everyone's posts for encouragement to eat better and exercise more. also good tips on what to eat and maybe some good healthy recipes.

Quote from kallison423 :

i hate wasting food. so i will try to give the unopened away and make better buying choices in the future.

on all the cooking shows, they recommend the low fat version instead of the fat free. i have to go w/ that too. i made mac and cheese once w/ fat free, yuck! my bff says the reduced fat hellmans tastes sweet (i don't notice any difference) but she'll eat the canola version which still has better numbers than the regular. any little bit helps.

yes, i need to park further away too. although i like parking near a shopping cart corral. but even more exercise having to walk the cart back, right?

Our gas company has a worry free contract you pay betweeen $5 and $10 a month
depending on appliance they charge nothing for service call or replacement part. on the "insured item"

You need to belong for a short period of time before they will service it. Might check out your local utility co. sign up and go to the laundromat for a little while and then voila washer fixed.Check wait period first..

I was going to suggest craigs list also it's not an upholsterd item, just make sure they run it through a wash cycle to make sure it runs alot of people around here are getting rid of good ones because they are upgrading to front loaders.

I second on trying Craig's list for a washer. We have been looking for a fridge for our garage, DH has a new homebrew hobby. Lots of washers listed, and very, very cheap!
