I've read that the Kindle is not worth it - that the books are not as varied and that they cost of the books is more than a hard copy (which doesn't make sense - you'd think an electronic version would be much cheaper.)

On another note - I love to read and I would personally miss the feel, smell, and experience of holding and turning pages in a physical book.
The Kindle is one of those either love it or hate it things. My friends that like the tech gadgets tend to be the ones that LOVE it. I love to read and would also miss the turning the pages of a real book. Plus, I don't think there is a lot of chic-lit titles for it Wink.

Oh, and my toddler says to me last night, "thank you for my best-friend sister Mavis..." Smilie Soooooo cute!!

She came over while i was nursing and puts her hand on my chest. I asked what she was doing, and she goes, "I'm helping Mavis." Then she goes, "can you take your hand off of Mavis's nani?" laugh out loud I guess they don't belong to me still...
Aww hug My wife is already talking about having another baby.

what's an iPad and my sister loves to read books. I mean worships them. Would that Kindle be good for her?
I read a lot of sci-fi and thrillers. I love the Kindle. My wife doesn't like it one bit. She would much rather have the paperback from the library. The books aren't as cheap as I would like. I do like the capacity for lots of books. It really comes in handy if you don't have your own library laugh out loud
I guess if they have a lot of books in the genre she reads then yes it would be good.

is the Old Spice body wash now made with gold specks? Was $7.59 for a shrink-wrapped double pack a few weeks ago, then TPC for $5.04. Price today? $14.09. OMG :
Sounds like when my 3 stores all decided that the Pedigree we were all buying (dry) was the same price as the next larger bag (12.xx). Took almost 3 weeks before the stores fixed it (Scan the price to ensure it's really fixed, as one store changed the tag, but didn't change the scan price)

Still works for me (or did when I posted about the Trash Bags (and it's a TQ) in the last week.

*shrug* Just a stab in the dark, I guess. Although, 75% of 26.99 would be around $20ish - so maybe that's why the $8 q didn't beep - it's not at/over 75%.

I'm also wondering if it's not a family confusion thing. Maybe if there's more than 1 item in the family or different "flavors" then they'll beep. Maybe it's kind of like Kmart's system - though why it's not happening on all MQ's is beyond me.

I've had problems with it. I can't print to pdf's anymore, and I can't seem to get the multi-admin to work either. Even when I make sure I'm logged out of all other users.
I know it's all a guessing game for us until we get some answers. To be clear on my part, the $8 mq DID bring up the check value screen for the $26.99 bluray and it was the only Disney dvd I bought in that transaction. Just weird and annoying, and yet they can't fix the $x/x from deducting the value of one item still.

Scratchhead Less than 1 week ago I printed 12+ of the same TQ. Today, it let me print 2, but changing users didn't let me print additional ones, but it doesn't take the items off the list to print (but doesn't give the 'exceeded your limit' crap printout). So Dontknow

Now I'm kicking myself in the butt for trying to save paper because I didn't have any more 2/3 sheets laying around, as I could have printed all night the night that I printed several (and found out the exp date on the TQ was 31 Dec).

i wonder if the ecentive printer thingy, which needed a separate install for each user account, is now working as a universal program. and if so, i wonder if deleting that then reinstalling (each time EEK! ) would do the trick.

Sad, isn't it? That it's the minority that feel that way and would be willing to refuse? I won't want my 20 year old DD doing it.

I guess it would depend partially on how she gets her books. I read alot -- usually multiple books per week.
I love my laptop and technology, yet, I wouldn't use one. I can't imagine having to keep my "book" charged or being tied to a plug in. I wouldn't even consider taking it into the bathtub or pool - and I read both of those places. But most of all, I wouldn't be willing to PAY for the books.
At the rate I read it would cost us a fortune. I read all the new books shortly after they come out. If I find a series I didn't know about, I pick up the whole thing starting with Book #1. I get anywhere from a few to a dozen books at a time -- all for free at the library. I know ahead of time when a new book is going to be released and often I request it before the library even has it.
My daughter thought that, reader that I am, I would love one. We even looked at them at Target the other day because I had never held and played with one. No thank you. Give me real books. Preferably free one!

Are those available online? If they don't have anymore at the store, can they order one and do an exchange for you so it's still clearance price? I would attempt to insist. Unless you are in one of those areas with a dozen stores and can find another one.

I can hear weird noises too. At least we have the basement apartment rented and the renters are home. If I get killed they will probably hear. lol...
Renter? You have renters? You mean straaaannngers who live in your house...... You know, all those crazy ass serial killers have to live somewhere....EEK!

Down 5 lbs. for my official weigh in today
Yahoo! Dance14 Dance13Whooo hooo, gonna dance it with ya! I'm waiting until Monday to weigh. Unless I just can't take it anymore.

Good morning, nearly afternoon everybody. It looks like the plan for today is to work on the facia and soffit on the house -- doing white metal. It is getting all dark and gloomy and was sprinkling earlier so I might get out of it. Actually, I need something to get me moving and we want to get this done. I'm hoping when we finish we can get the gutters done before winter, but I'm not holding my breath. (We aren't doing those ourselves, we are having seamless done).

I didn't do the weight bench or walk yesterday, I just didn't feel good at all + I couldn't get that far from the, ummm, bathroom. I may or may not get it done today -- but if I don't it will be because I am working and that will be up and down the ladder all day long. I think that counts!

I want that Kitchen Aid digital probe thermometer. If you find one and would be willing to mail it to me, I would appreciate it. It is out of stock online.

Ok, diet people. it's the weekend. We all know what that means -- diet killer. You can do it. RESIST! We don't need no stinkin' instant satisfaction. We want to be proud of ourselves on Monday. Be able to say, "ha ha, damn junk food, I am stronger than you are". this concludes today's pep talk. Now, go forth and eat some celery. Celery Lift

Since some of you don't like to venture into the deals thread---

As others have posted on deals, the Brown Dot stuff is 75%. Found for 25: flash cards; dry erase sheets to practice printing; small Disney books; pkg of 3 small Iron Man frisbees; Spic & Span Antibacterial Spray Cleaner [found extras in the regular cleaning aisle]; Spic & Span Complete Home Cleaner; Winnie the Pooh jumbo crayons; reference books - dictionary, English-Spanish dictionary, Thesaurus; educational workbooks; wide rulers-- regular 12" long, but 2" wide [I guess easier for little kids to hold (?)]

Feels so strange to go to Target and not "buy" any C9 items.

One of my Targets already has several aisles of Christmas stuff. EEK!

[QUOTE=gt6mk31;32602405Good Lord woman, what did you do? Get up at the butt crack of dawn and go on litter mission? I haven't been yet. I am inhaling coffee while wearing a night shirt, blanky, and laptop... and I plan to stay that way for a while.

My son called so in the midst of typing this I talked to him for an hour. So, I am still in the night shirt and blanky. I really need to get dressed and go get free kitty litter.... or garage spill absorber as we like to call it.[/QUOTE]

Could someone let me in on the litter deal please? I have 13 cats...umm..kids, who use a lot of garage spill absorbent.

Thanks!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but unless you have an Hy-Vee, it won't help you, as this is not a Target deal.
