Happybday gator

Ltl7 hope dd is better soon and its not pneumonia! hug

So I bought a scale, I had weight myself in the store on one last week laugh out loud and I thought it was off and I was right it was off a little but not in my favor Crying this is definitely the heaviest I've been in my life and its depressing. It gets worse I cheated and ate 3 pieces of pizza yesterday, and had two cans of soda, that's all I had eaten for the entire day. I was said because of the stepper.

Now I need to find another stepper Frown

And for those of you who like to hear poop talking I am teaching ds how to wipe his own butt, he is lazy and rather yell he's done and have mom or dad wipe his butt. He's 4 soon to be five! So its time for him to do it on his own!!!

Ok so in my family we use tagalog terms, and in english there referred to as private parts.

So vagina is: pookie (there's one other way to say it but, I can't remember?)

And penis is; teetee

Silly as it is we have just always referred to it that way, because dh is filipino.

Oh and it always cracks me up when u hear people calling there wives or girlfriends pookie, because they have no idea there calling her a cat/vagina. its hilarious Rofl2
Quote from TheGh0st :
Kids things say.

My DH's family for some unknown reason refer to a certain male body part as a "popo". (I swear they never knew it's other street def.) I'm not a fanatic about teaching my son the appropriate words for body parts but still thought it was a little bit of a ridiculous nick name.

But it sure saved me on more than one occasion. My DS practically from birth has had a problem with his manhood apparently being over sensitive. He would always complain when we would have to wipe it between diaper changes and once he was old enough to talk he would start to cry or complain several times a week (usually while riding in a car or shopping cart) and when we would press for what was wrong he would say his "popo was up and he couldn't get it down"

I can only thank the heavens that no one in the stores knew what he was referring to.
Cathi, great job on the weight loss, any weight loss is a success!!

Kallison, one of my dad's friend told me years ago that they had the same thing happen, no insurance and had to go to the ER, he said that as long as you pay $1/mo they can't turn you into a collection agency, because you are paying on it. I don't know if that is true or not, but may be something to look into.
So it will kinda be like my student loans- I'll be paying them until I die laugh out loud

When I got sick and college and got a lovely $25,000 bill, I just had to send them a letter of financial hardship and they put my balance to $0 (thank goodness). I hope I might be able to at least get a deduction.

Thanks all for good thoughts- feeling rundown today, but okay.

ok, looks like this thread is going from being about poop to about feeling like poop. OMG
so, here's some poop scooping laugh out loud
LLL7 and TN, when my weeks get nutty with tons of niggling stuff like that, and the feeling that there's no respite anywhere, i disconnect from all the to-dos and worries and I find myself a zen place in the house - a clean, tidy room, or a clean tidy corner of a room. near a window where i can look out. or a porch. something like that. get a cup of fragrant tea or some hot chocolate or some lemonade (something yummy and soothing, but light) and i switch on some calming music and think of all the things that are right in my life, all the things that have worked out, all the things that make me smile. and then i remind myself of difficult things i overcame AND happy things I accomplished. and invariably I end by telling myself that If I can do any of those things I can do these. thus now firmly positioned in my mental zen place, i leave my physical zen location, get a notepad, or a laptop and come up with a list of all the things that need doing and then a shorter list of things i'll tackle first.
it always works for me.
find your zen. and you'll be okay.
people say don't sweat the small stuff. i say sweat away cos it likely means you don't have big stuff to sweat over, and that, my friends, is a blessing.

hug

TN, what a thing to say about yourself! hate?! nooooooo. you are magical in so many ways. smart, capable, resourceful and brave. and you are loved by many in your life. stop it!
what's there to hate - that you don't like your weight? news flash - a majority of women feel the exact same way about themselves. no big deal. you can lose it. entirely doable even if it seems otherwise right now.
my new resolution for all things that I don't have the motivation/enthusiasm to do, but which if done will make my life better, is this: an hour a day. for tedious things, half hour a day. i've found, with everything from housecleaning to excercising to cooking to paying bills to studying a language by yourself, whatever it is, the hour a day principle works great, because there's an end in sight, and you get to make steady progress every day. try it! an hour a day!

Quote from myluvjustice :
MLJ, and m2c and others - weight fluctuations can also be because of excercise. if you have been excercising regularly, you will pretty quickly begin changing your muscle mass and so over the weeks you will start to see some weight gain. doesn't mean you gained fat. that's why after a little bit it is more accurate to use both weight and inches as an indicator. if you gain some on the scale, but your waistline/bust/hips/thighs/arm measurements are even slightly down, then you're still making progress. keep going! you guys are such an inspiration! woot woot woot woot

nod Yes, DEFINITELY apply for the hospital's financial aid! Especially since it is the end of the year and a lot of the hospitals either have money that they have to 'spend' in aid or they'll lose it or are wanting to be able to write it off for tax purposes etc.

This is one thing that spurred DH and I into getting all of our debt payed off. My hospital bill for allergic reaction -- ER, ICU on life support for a week, inpatient/outpatient rehab after that -- was a LOT. I don't remember what the grand total was...we are VERY fortunate to have excellent insurance through dh's job and our bill was maybe 10% of the whole if that, but it was still thousands of dollars. We could not keep up with it and ended up applying for the financial aid (which they pretty much begged us to do) and they wrote off the entire bill. It was a very humbling experience. After that I knew we had to get the rest of our debt paid off so that if something like this happened again it would not be so stressful. Then all of our job stuff got switched around and we started on Dave Ramsey's plan and really hit it hard and we don't have much left to go!

I am assuming you are talking about dog shots. You can get the combo shots in most farm store for around $4 as opposed to paying a vet fee. They come with the syringe. If you are talking rabies -- that varies by state. Some states you can buy them over the counter, some states you can't. If you have several dogs it still might be cheaper for you to order online and do those yourself.

I used to to order the rabies, but last time the shipping had increased enough that for just two dogs, it was tit for tat having my vet do it since he only charged $15 per dog -- that's it, no office fee charge or anything else on top of it. I used to order from Jeffers.

If you are talking about kid shots, please disregard everything I just said.laugh out loud
I am talking about Dog shots laugh out loud But, unfortunately, any places that board dogs, need vet proof of shots. I will probably take them to the UGA vet hospital, it's not too much there. Need to get the boy's nuts chopped off anyways. We've put it off for 5 years hoping for puppies, but it just isn't happening. It would help if our female didn't have her tail permanently stuck between her legs (she's the most neurotic dog ever!)!

Quote from skynsam :
Do you have any recommendations for where to get a good deal on Frontline (whatever kind the vet gives out for $20 a pop)? I never thought I'd have to look for dog deals Sadwalk
What size are your dogs? If they are smaller, you can get the largest dosage of Frontline (available at T, use your towels for overage to help), and get a syringe from the pharmacy. Petshed has a dosage chart on there. If your dogs are small, like mine, I can get around 5 doses out of 1 dose of the largest dog size (60lbs and up, I think). I would ask around a little first, when I took my dogs to MO this summer, I got there with my Frontline, and found out that Frontline doesn't work out there. Luckily, I had the extra money to shell out for the more expensive stuff (mind is blank, can't think of the name), because it was the only thing working. I was not a happy camper! Here in GA, I have no problems with Frontline, plus with our cats, who play, sleep, and bathe the dogs, Frontline can also be used for them, the other stuff is toxic to cats.

Thanks, DH is at band practice, so we are turning off the tv and cleaning up. Then maybe I will have a clean corner to be zen in!

I hate it when people think they come jump in and parent my kids. It is MY job and they're my kids and I do my job very well, thank you. I am instantly hateful to those people (so Christian-like, I know) b/c I am so furious. Just b/c they think that touching a sign will get them "hurt" doesn't mean what they are implying which is, obviously: your mom doesn't watch you, so please don't touch that sign - it might spontaneously combust and you could burn your fingers. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

And it's nearly always people you know damn good and well don't have kids of their own (or haven't for 40 years)
Quote from gt6mk31 :
All right you people with little kids. I'm gonna have my say! When you have your kid in a cart and it's standing up you know what I would like to go up to you say? Huh, do ya? Well, I'm gonna tell ya. THANK YOU. Thank you for confining your child to your cart. Thank you for keeping your kid out of my way. Thank you for not letting your kid run up and down the aisles where I am apt to whack them with my cart when they run in front it -- then it will be my fault, of course. Thank you.

Oh and as for the kiddies standing up. Get over it. Accidents happen nobody is gonna let their kid fall on purpose. I would assume that the parent is watching the evil standing child to see that they are just standing not leaning over to the point of danger.

Oh, and if your sitting kid wants to be a little higher so they can see out -- flip a carry basket over in the bottom of the cart and let them use it for a seat. Now, standing on that, yeah, a fall risk.
The only time I usually say something, and it's usually like LTL pointed out that they are trained to talk to the child, I will make a comment if the child appears to be in danger as in climbing out, riding under the bottom of the cart with their feet banging on shelves, etc. I try to be as polite as possible but there are times I just want to wallop the parents. About a week ago, my oldest and I were leaving T and saw some Darwin winner pushing his toddler (seated in the back) and infant (in car seat on top of the cart, which are NOT designed to have car seats in the seat area, it can make them unstable), and he would give the cart a hard push, then allow it to propel across the parking lot about 30 ft or so ahead of him.

Mad

The cart tilted to one side, almost hit a concrete tire stop in the handicapped spot, and he ran up to grab it before it could run into the drive lanes. Then did it again. I was so shocked at the absolute stupidity that all I could do was stare.

Took the troops to Kohls today and had a great shopping trip. I was afraid they wouldn't want to participate in the shenanigans, but they did woot Of course, it was for them to get stuff for their new place so.....

anyway, getting the k cups there is a good thing when on sale for 9.99. I had a 20% off so brought to 8.00, then a 5.00 off, so 3.00 for the box, not bad. Found DS a nice pair of Skechers leather sandals at 90%, from 65.00 to 6.50, 20% off and 5.00 off of those so we paid .20 for them Yahoo! Got a picture frame for me and a great big letter 'T' that I don't know what in the heck I'll use it for, but it was less than a buck Roll

Got dd and dsil a bathroom rug, 2 wall plaques, bath towels, hand towels and soap dispenser for their 2nd bathroom all for less than 10.00.

DD got DSIL a nice dockers dress shirt and a pair of shorts for 3.00 total.

Also got a rubber spatula just because I needed one laugh out loud

Now DD and DSIL are back at their house happily decorating, DS is lying down (another headache) and I'm comtempling what to make for a quick dinner but can't seem to come up with any ideas.

ETA: here is a link from Skechers for the sandals that are 90% off at Kohls: (couldn't find them on their website)
