I did some gift shopping myself today.
We have lived in our house for over a year and our bedroom is FAR from being decorated. My husband just painted our room a light khaki color and we have a dark brown sleigh bed, dresser, and armoire. Does anyone have any suggestions on colors for a comforter, accessories, etc. I need to get the stuff while I have the money!! I don't know if I should go with a comforter/duvet with a print or do a solid color comforter with a throw at the end and colored pillows. Again, I have NO decorating sense.

We also have a forest (hunter) oversized chair (Craigslist special) in our sitting room, so I also need to find something that doesnt clash with that!! I just really need someone to do it all for me!!! I have a friend I need to call..she is very good at decorating. We just never seem to have the time to get together...Target and Kohls pretty much takes up all my spare time.
Too bad she doesnt want to get together at 1:00 in the morning when those places are closed.
Meesh - I just saw your post. So...your suggestion is comforter with a print???? I have spent literally hours looking at comforters online. Its getting ridiculous!!!!

LOL I wouldn't go completely plain.. what colors do you like? Green would go good with Khaki and dark woods...
We REALLY should have chosen a comforter and art BEFORE we painted. Ugh. I am leaning towards green or autumn orange.

It has some of that orangey color in it...
My husband would LOVE it...we found one at bed bath and beyond that was similar, but its just too "masculine" or something for my taste. Now, dont get me wrong, I dont want a super froo-froo room either, I just want it to be a little feminine or pretty or hell, I dont know what I want.

Mmmm, I did the stuff jalapenos for supper tonight. Oh, man, were they good. Between the 3 of us, they are GONE!
I did ok cleaning them. First I put a microfiber cloth, doubled, over my mouth and nose and then put a face mask (like for sanding) over that. I filled the sink with warm water with a bowl submersed and a plate handy for a lid so they didn't float out into the scraps. I got the peppers out the fridge and put them directly in the water -- bag and all. I cleaned them totally underwater, even putting it in the bowl without coming up. Ran the garbage disposal, let the water run for a long time. Left the room and then removed the mask. Had the exhaust fan running.
Oh, almost forget. Yes, I stayed within my carb limit.

first of all, why don't you do a bed-in-a-bag? most of the decorating work is already done for you.

I LOVE the color...might be a little too traditional for me though. I know, I know, I am a super pain in the ass.
slowtech - I love the look of a solid comforter with lots of different cool patterned, striped pillows. I just have issues actually achieving the look!!!
