RETIRED: Target chit chat

Okay.. just read quickly to catch up. Just got home from DD 16th birthday party and I am exhausted! Do you think kids every appreciate all we do for them? It is alot of work

Things went well today. A couple of her good friends didn't show for the party, which I couldn't believe, but I think she had a good time anyway. Decorating, getting food prepared, serving, and cleaning up the mess has worn me totally out. I was on my feet so long that they are killing me.. I caved in and ate one bite of cake. A good friend at church made it and I wanted just a taste.. And I was so busy that I never had time to eat, so I ended up munching on chips, pretzels, sausage balls, and veggies while I worked. Don't wanna think about how many calories I had today.. Just gonna start fresh tomorrow!

I was worn out and my toddler was too when we left. She was ill and cranky, but I remembered I needed to get the Tink movie before it went off sale today and we were right beside target. I ran in and only got that one item. It just about killed me too cause my fav jedi was working..

Can't remember who asked about the toddler clothes at kohl's, but there is a pretty good selection of stuff in the 6.00 range. I saw lots of mix and match seperates by jumping bean that were on sale for 5.49- 5.99. I got my daughter some fall/winter clothes yesterday. Each outfit was under 1.00 total after coupons.
I was disappointed because I didn't make it back to Kohl's today. I never bought one box of kcups. I was planning on getting some tonight, but was too tired. I hope they go on sale again soon. I have a week to use the rest of my 5.00 coupons. And when I got home and checked the mail today, I had another 10.00/10.00 coupon for Kohl's So, there must be a new round of coupons out! I just used one this week that expired today or tomorrow, and now I have another!

Back to kohls's... they were verrryyy good to me today ,among other things my liitle ponies for $1.59 for those of you with hasboro b1g1 q's
they were in those sliding racks outside of the toddler dep mixed in with 90%
off toddler clothes.

Tons of summer todddler shorts, in the same location as above for $1.00 (90%) off that five dollar q s t r e t c h e d : weren't any left in the sizes I needed by the time I was Finished picking thru them

Ummm, actually up until a couple weeks ago it was three. We didn't do it on purpose....

The one on that side of the state is where we were living when DH went to work for the railroad. Within 6 months, promotion, had to move across the state. We didn't want to sell the house (a) in case things didn't work out and (b) it was our intention to retire back there. So, we rented it. This was 13 years ago mind you.

Obviously, the job worked out and now we have absolutely no intention of ever living back there. Yeah, we could sell it, but it would be a pain in the ass to do that plus we have had the same renter from day one. I'm not gonna up and make her move. If she ever decides to leave, we will probably go back, clean it up and sell it. In the meantime, it's been paid for for years and has caused us very little trouble. I think I have had 4 or 5 calls in all these years and they were easily remedied problems. We have been blessed.

Then a year and half ago hubby and I went to this house auction. We thought if it went cheap enough we would buy it to rent and we could use the garage. (Cause, you know the 4 car + 1 car at my house and the 2.5 car + 1 car at the other house aren't enough.) Anyway, it didn't, we didn't. But we were riding around our little tiny town and there was this cute little house.... new roof, siding, huge lot, empty...

The price was ridiculously cheap but it needed work, so we bought it. We didn't get it done as fast as we wanted. Hubby was in a bad accident almost 2 years ago and it has slowed him down and I have had some problems. Anyway, we didn't finish, but we did sell it last month and still made a profit. Not as much as if we had finished it, but it was more than the money would have drawn in the back.

Would you believe we have actually considered looking for a place further north??? Crazy isn't it! I have always hated Iowa and wanted somewhere warmer. Well, we are both getting where we don't really like the heat. (Which doesn't mean we like winter either!) But we do like fishing some of those Minnesota lakes...... We are 47, so he isn't retiring very soon, but we want to eventually get something bought and ready.

I had the most awful trip to Target. The LOD tried to tell me I couldn't use the $10 home bath coupon because the item was on clearance When I argued he said that Target would make no profit if he let me use it. : Crazy people

OK. Now I have read the Kohls thread but I am utterly lost as to how I shop. I have the $5 off coupons. You can only use 1 per transaction, right? And one can be combined with a % off? Anything else that can stack in store? Has anyone seen deals on 4T boys clothes? I am desperate need of warm clothes for DS and it doesn't look like T is going to put out a $5/$30 Q anytime soon.

So today is my official graduation. I am not walking in the ceremony, but I have my diploma. It really feels good but I have had NO luck finding a job remotely legal in nature. We are hoping DH gets an offer soon for a job in Tampa so we can get the hell out of Michigan before the snow starts piling up!

Went to the Habitat Re-store yesterday. Did not buy much but we got a LOT of stain for $1.50 Hopefully something that will work for the new kitchen table we will be making. We are redoing our kitchen partially at the end of Oct, early Nov. New countertops, sink/faucet, tile backsplash....went and got some samples of stuff yesterday - cannot wait!! Also ordered a new, more energy-efficient front door yesterday. Our house is gonna look quite different here in a couple months. Need to figure out how to re-purpose that old door into something useful

The TV has been on DIY all day (when it's on), so it got me thinking, since I have new towels, rugs, and now a nice, black wood etegere for the kids bathroom, I should just redo the paint, floor, and countertop (very small bathroom). I was looking at Home Depot, and found this very cute Winnie The Pooh faucet [homedepot.com] (oddly enough, it's the cheapest one they have) for $32.50 I wish my kids were younger, I'd get it for them.

ank, my oldest turned 14 a few weeks ago. She's already counting the days until she gets a license. lol
I miss those little newborn baby days, definitely don't miss the 24/7 nursing sessions (so it seemed).

We spent a few hours in the pool at the hotel since it was too stinking hot to actually go to Busch Gardens today. Tomorrow is park day. Wore the two boys out. Monkey seems to be a natural swimmer- bought him one of the class V swim float/ life vests on clearance at Target last week and he was doggy paddling- on his own! Needs to work on keeping his mouth closed while in the pool. He kept up a running commentary of everything he did- kick kick kick hi mommy etc.... lol

Will catch up on TCC and PM's in a bit... feeling very saddened tonight... my best friend from high school older sister died in a car accident.. I remember going over to her sisters house a million times in high school... she will be very missed!! I haven't seen her in several years and am feeling horrid tonight after finding out Love you guys!!

Are those $5/5 Kohls' coupons good online? Trying to resist the shoe sale....

Years ago two friends and I were there for breakfast. They ordered coffee, I ordered hot tea. The waitress brought the little pots out along with cups, mine with a tea bag on the side. I put the bag in the cup and proceeded to pour my hot water. It was brown. I thought, oh, it's already tea, she brought me an extra tea bag.

Have ya ever had coftea? Yeah, well, it's not good. So, when she came back by I told her that my pot was coffee, not hot water. Nicely, it was no big deal at all. She said, "well I put water in it, that's what was in it". Ummmm, then apparently she has the gift of turning water to coffee. She was just nasty and kept insisting that it was water!
