Hope this isn't too off-topic...but this week, while exhausting (67-hour, 2-job work week), has been amazing - won a SD giveaway and proposed / got engaged(!) two days ago Smilie

I wanted to give back to those on this thread who have helped find so many deals (and run the ink on my printer down to nothing Wink) So...

PM me with the subject of "Target Thread Giveaway" and let me know what your two to three favorite Target deals have been over the years. I'll draw at least two people out of those who enter for at least a $5 Target GC.

[extra notes: Must have at least 25 reps&posts, will be open until at least late Wednesday, maybe as late as Friday night. I want this to be in this thread only, so please don't repost in other threads! Thanks & Good luck!]

you guys, i posted this TPC info in deals yesterday, but meant to say to all you dieters here:

the AF organic fruit strips are TPC at $2 this week. 10 in a box. no junk in the ingredients. and only 45 calories, no fat, for each strip. they're very flavorful (blueberry, pomegranate and raspberry are the ones i've tried so far and my ratings are in that ranking order, too), and not cloyingly sweet, but they make the perfect sweet snack for those craving something sweet.

also, i've been so nauseous i've barely been eating cos anything i eat makes me more nauseous afterwards. but I found each time I ate one of these, a) no additional nausea afterwards and b) they actually made me feel better in that the nausea went down as did the empty stomach gastric irritation and the exhaustion. so, something to consider for those feeling under the weather also.
Very helpful info! Repped you over in deals this AM before I left for T - love, love, love the AF fruit strips. You are right, NO JUNK in them. They are 1 WW point, perfect for a sweet snack that isn't all that unhealthy nod Mostly real fruit and real fruit juice and completely worth the $2 when you are dieting IMHO. Healthier than fruit snacks, etc. for the kiddos too. DD loves them!

ank, clothes. a few suggestions:

1. set up a deal alert for macy's hot deals. cos macy's has these special sales every month - 12 a year. usually their best prices in the year. they always have qs to go with that. few weeks ago the one they had one with a $5 every $25 sales or clearance apparel purchase. people were getting 8-10 brand name items, and walking out of their paying 20 bucks for 6 shirts and 4 pants for men, or equivalent for women. totally worth keeping an eye out.

2. keep an eye out on gap promotions. they're running lots of them recently. they are a great place for basics - jeans, trousers, tee shirts etc. last month for example gap had a groupon deal, 15 bucks for $50 voucher - can be used on anything in store. they have the most amazing clearance and sales racks. with referral discounts the groupons cost even less. very good deal. get on the gap and banana republic mailing lists. gap routinely sends out 30-40% off coupons by email that you can use in store. they also have similar % off qs for their outlets in sunday inserts (usually parade mag or whatever the other similar one is called US something ). combined with clearances you can do really well. if you have an outlet near you, banana runs HUGE sales around every holiday. so for example this summer for memorial day weekend they had 50% of everything in store, plus there was an additional 30-40% off coupon. a friend of mine got multiple really nice things for work, 8-10 pcs, maybe more for under a hundred bucks. stunning. banana runs small on the bust though, so that's somewhere you'd want to stay away from for a few months.

3. ann taylor and ann taylor loft look like really pricey stores, but they have the most fantastic clearance cycles. things generally go on sale about 3 weeks after they are introduced. clearance a few weeks after that. lots of basics, but also lots of nice individual stuff. and they, too, have amazing coupons. one they are running right now is buy 3 items get 40% off everything. sales and clearance are included. plus free shipping. their stuff is versatile, their quality fab. i highly recommend them cos you can get a lot for a little.
Nice!! THanks so much for posting all that! In the past, I have gotten a couple items from Ann Taylor for reasonable prices, but always forget about them when needing clothes. My clothes budget right now, though, is almost nonexistent, at least for myself, so Kohls is it for me (once I bite the bullet and buy the coupons, that is Big Grin). But once hubby's job situation gets sorted out, then I will definitely put all those ideas to good use!! Wink

Good morning everyone. My kids had a group discussion and decided they don't really like our carpet all that much so they painted it this morning. What's more awesome than 4 pints of paint on carpet? White footprints throughout the house.

Thank god I am on meds or I might be kidless.
Oh, that is so not cool. How does one even go about cleaning that up???!!

Quote from gt6mk31 :
I live an hour from everything. Except McDonalds. So, wouldn't you know, the week the coupons for the free McFrappe or Smoothie came out, I got a boatload of papers. Seriously bad, bad behavior on my part! Big Grin
Awww Dreeme, that sucks.hugOn the upside, just think of all the exercise you are getting cleaning it up.
Anything unscented.

Hey Dieters --- are you using any of those Kohl's coupons to buy some things in a size or two too small? I haven't been yet, so I don't know what I will find. But if I find something I really really like and it's a little small... and a dollar... it's coming home with me. Incentive!
Me, too!!! But I shared lots of those with my family and friends, because I much preferred the 30+ free Dunkin Donuts iced latte/coffee coupons I got. Rofl2 I was actually glad when those expired, because I so heart DD, but I was starting to get really weird looks from the employees there. Felt like I had worn out my welcome... Wink

So ... for anyone who is of the praying sort here - if you could say a quick prayer for my hubby's job situation. Long story short - his company is the sub on a contract with Coast Guard national hqtrs. Contract just expired, his company was re-signed as sub under the new prime on the contract. His company won 10 new positions, which is great, and his boss is committed to promoting from within. Hubby has been told he will be taking a certain position that he knows starts at least $15k more than he makes right now. No money has been discussed, and for whatever reason, hubby feels its highly unlikely they will give him that much of a pay increase. Anyway, that would mean SO much to our family right now. It would mean we no longer have to rely on my yard sales and rebates and slick-dealing (although once a slickdealer, always a slickdealer) to survive, I can actually do it just for the fun of it, with no pressure. Contract starts Oct 16, so he should know by then.

And in other news, its a rainy dreary day here. About to send the kids off to bed, and then curl up on the couch with my man Robin Hood. Anyone out there watched the BBC TV series, Robin Hood? If not, and you have Netflix, WATCH IT!! So awesome.

It's from Mary Chapin Carpenter's "The Bug"

It may have originally originated from that song, but it was introduced into the TCC thread by MOFOME who once said that her mom used to say, "some times you're the windshield and some times you're the bug". I only remember because I made that my siggy for a while. That's how 'windshield wishes" became a TCC mantra! Thanks mofome! Wave

Did you get the hasbro coupons in the AJC? Or you get a different paper?
Nope, AJC in Athens only had the Red Plum, so I bought the Athens Banner-Herald instead. It's cheaper $1.50/ea, but it doesn't have as many Qs in the SS & RP as the AJC usually has.

OMG I need your kids to come over to my house. Our house has hideous maroon carpet in the living room and I am trying to get it replaced. It might just be the right incentive to get my DH to do so!

Long morning at work. Good, but long. It doesn't help that I woke up at 4am and couldn't get back to sleep this morning.

Comic Relief of the day- when I got home I opened up the top of the fish tank to feed the fish, and my DH's cat decided that was the time she was going to jump on top of it. Her head was kinda stuck in the water for a few sec., trying to figure out how to get back out. It was worth all the water I had to clean up when she jumped out. Just wish I had a video of it.

I have 7 more Q's to use before the expire, on the 2nd I think. Went to Taco Bell to pick up lunch.. ordered 2 hard tacos with no meat add tomatos, they charged me 90 cents for the tomatos! WTF? It pisses me off when people do that. I'm not getting meat so why are you going to charge me for the tomatos? Mad Same thing if I go to Mcdonalds i order without meat add lettuce and tomato, i get charged!!! ok done venting......

Crap I missed something deals? Guess thats what I get for going shopping!! lol

Well... not much excitement here. Waiting for DD to hurry up and get her schoolwork done so I can go shopping!!

My toddler is driving me nuts. It's been raining for like 3 days now and she's climbing the walls. She is also claiming to be hungry but won't eat anything I feed her. Grrr.

...
The only thing I could think was that the woman was either an off-duty T employee or a fellow couponer that didn't think she was flying low enough under the radar due to the quantity of T Q's she was using in one Tranny. She may have thought by going out of her way to police my co-workers wife that she would appear above reproach when she used her own Q's.

BTW I had her ask before the cashier even started if she should split the order up due to the qty of Q's and the cashier told her not to bother. Her cart was less than a 1/3 full. with about 1 dozen cheese sticks, 10 different fruits & veggies & 5 bread items as well as some dr. pepper, pizza & milk that she didn't have q's for.

The woman even tried to accuse her of trying to stealing the dr pepper as she had only put one on the belt and had told the cashier about the other two before the nightmare customer walked up.

The last we heard of her she was shouting that she had taken pictures of my co-workers wife for the store management to warn other employees about her attempted theft.

Again my only problem with the whole thing is how ghetto my co-worker's wife response to the situation was. I didn't mind her standing up for herself but the profanity she used was so colorful it contained words even I had never heard used in public. I think if our kids hadn't been with us she might have actually walked over to confront the lady and I don't even want to know what I would have done if she had. I had driven her there as they are so broke they don't even own a working car, but I would have been awful tempted to just drive away without her if it had escalated even further.

The cashier was great but a customer in line behind her actually came up and grabbed the pile of coupons she had set down to be scannedfthe cashier tried to keep scanning the Q's but gave up due to the scene that was being caused.

I told her to go back in and see if she could do a missed Q's over at CS and somehow the other customer sees her over there and comes over and starts in on her again. The CS employee kept telling the lady she was wrong and that the Q's were valid but she wouldn't stop arguing.
.

I don't think the other lady actually ever saw me but I have been worried that she might be a fellow uber strict SD'er or that she may have caused such a scene as to have made shopping there in the future a problem. I rarely go there but it is one of few ST's within 20 miles of me.

EEK! s said she was fine so U think that ,it is the OTHER woman they will look at askance.Odd on the lady behind her at register , I wonder if she might have been overzealous LP ?Being nosey.....I don't think that's their job.

I wouldn't offer to take your aquantance again though.hug
