This a really off the wall question but are perms still in style? I am thinking of changing up my hair, right now it is just long and straight and BORING. I used to perm my hair and am thinking about doing it again. I am thinking a sprial or bodywave, not a poodle curl.LMAO I love Nicole Kidman's hair when she kinda has a loose wave. I just want an easy style, low maintenance style. Anyone have any ideas?
would a curling iron work with your hair? cos those kidman soft curls are curling iron work. if you don't like curling irons, or aren't good with them, conair and others have instant heat ceramic rollers. the cheapest i've seen is on ebay. those work great. most boxes come with assorted sizes so you can use larger ones on longer strands and smaller ones for the front etc. you just put them in their heating box and they're ready in minutes.

another hairdresser's trick i've read a lot is at night after washing your hair spray a fine mist of some styling spray. then wrap strands around finger(s) and pin. when you wake up and undo the pins you should have pin curls... depending on how tightly you wrapped em (1-2 fingers or more) you'll get anywhere from fully formed curls to loose waves.

I have no idea where they get their inserts - I would LOVE to know though...
there are companies/ad divisions responsible for stuffing papers with the inserts. usually separate from the newspaper printing division. clippers have contact within those companies.

.... My turkey is ok, but still havent masterd that, sometimes its perfect, sometimes its dry. Im the same way alway cooking a twenty pound bird or bigger since we have a army to feedLMAO
here's what i do to make turkey super moist and it has never failed me:
1. make a mixture of just melted butter and fresh lemon juice. rub that mixture all over the chilled turkey working into the skin. (chilled is key. if I buy frozen turkey, i just defrost it in a sink full of cold water until i can pull out "that bag" from inside. wash and in that chilled state it's ready to be dressed and go into the oven. the colder it is the more moist it will be when done, much like chilled cookie dough)
2. stuff the turkey with some reserve stuffing (most of my guests don't like the stuffing from the bird. so i make separate stuffing for serving. but having stuffing in the bird is key for me because the stuffing helps prevent turkey from drying out from within)
3. Depending on the size of the bird, anywhere from 45 mins to 1 hours into the cooking process, the top will be golden brown. once that happens but before the skin turns crispy, i cover the whole roasting pan with aluminium foil and crimp it along the edges, making a tent over the turkey so the foil doesn't touch the bird but has completely enclosed the pan leaving no room for vapor to escape. then continue cookiing. once turkey is nearly done (like 5 mins more to go or so) you can remove the foil so it browns just a tad more if people like it super crispy.

...ooh! i got 2 90% off ice cream makers from summer mini seasonal. the big one and the small one. (really wanted the shaved ice but didn't want to drive 2hrs round trip.) i could keep always keep the small one instead of giving it away.
...
the extra chilling tub is nice to have. i'm so wishing i'd gotten a unit that came with a second tub, but when i was getting mine, the one with the extra tub was about 10 bucks more and i thought what do i need another container for. Facepalm

Morning Wave

Late night and early morning for me. sipping coffee and about to make breakfast. Speaking of breakfast. Run over here [goodeggproject.org] and get your coupon for the B1G1 eggs. I remember when the same coupon came out last year. It is bricks and I was able to print 2. We go through alot of eggs here.

I weighed this morning and was up almost a pound Frown gotta be very good the rest of the week.. And I need to stay off the scale until next Monday.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Jamie- good luck on your first day! Wish you lived around here! I would love a new jedi. They seem to be few and far between around here anymore.

If you're going to be buying the $9.49 Friskies that has the $5GC wyb 2..... don't forget to get some Friskies treats too since they have coupons. Your cat will love you!

FYI, it seems to be both flavors of Friskies. The seafood sensations is the only one with a sign. They were out of it and I scanned the other flavor. Shows $9.49, but doesn't display GC on side. When I took it to the register though the GC did pop up on the screen.

Ok I hate stuffing my bird, I know Im a freakStick Out Tongue, I would prefer it to be cooked seperate, Im not sure why? and turkey left overs dont last long in my house, we have 8 peeps here, and my DH has a huge filipino family, and we always send everyone home with left overs. I do thanksgiving because they dont cook turkey etc, its an American holiday. they bring all the filipino party food usually, like lumpia and Pancit, and a big fave is a filipino version of korean bbq, now Im Eat
I never cook the stuffing in the bird. I guess because of Alton Brown. Watch his Thanksgiving episode about cooking turkey. I think the recipe is called "Good Eats Roast Turkey" I cooked it that way once, and I will never cook Turkey another way again. It's moist, delicious, no basting, and only takes about 2 1/2 hours to cook.

The TQs are still good. In fact, another Tough Odor one came out yesterday, which the cans were TPC at my store to $2.34 also (like the Fall ones).

My store has the 7 oz Clean Linen Candles on clearance for $4.28. I was looking for a nice MQ to go with the Free $5 GC wyb 2 TQ.
Cool! Need to clip my qs and get to Target!!

Yuck, yuck, yuck. Rainy weather, and for whatever reason, I'm in a foul mood. Wanted to get some shopping done this morning, but I think I need to relax with a mug of coffee and get myself collected before subjecting the world to this mess. nod

Also have to hunt down a slickdeal on Epson 97 ink, like, right now. Bled it dry, I have, on zillions of coupons. Big Grin

Speaking of Thanksgiving - I wanted to share this life-changing recipe [allrecipes.com] for your leftovers the next day. I have no idea what it is for no-carbers but it isn't THAT unhealthy and oh my word, it is delicious! I cook turkey throughout the year now just so we can have this soup. yummy
