hey by the way, just learned that a former coworker had a child this past week. want to send him and his wife a little baby welcoming gift. has anyone noticed any good markdowns in the baby section at T? i really need to be super frugal on this but I'd like to be able to send them a few nice things. oxymoron i know, but we're SD'ers. Big Grin
laugh out loud I don't know about mark-downs in baby, but I had a similar thing today. When I picked up my kids from school, they said on the morning announcements that it was one of our neighbor's (and is also DD's bff) birthday today. Her family doesn't do birthdays or parties. But, we got her a LPS (free AC, of course) for her birthday. She is overjoyed!

I did not want to 'muddy' the other thread, so am posting here! I am very grateful to all who have sent me information necessary via PMs....I am short on time, but will get REPS out to all when life slows for a minute/ten...

If anybody here visits the Kohl's thread also, and stops by - please tell them I'll be back (feel like Arnold) as soon as I can.

I briefly shared that RL is ugly right now - and it's not yet getting better. I am between 2 lawyers, 3 courts, 2 felonies, 3 misdemeanors and 'a partridge in a pear tree'....(so it feels).

This is 'not me' - but rather one of my sons, who has special needs. It is so stressful - I can't sit still and haven't had time to be here.

I just wanted to say that the PMs when I stopped in for a minute brought me to tears, as I needed to see/know there is goodness in the world. If anybody finds my mind, can you hold it until I return? I am certain I have lost it these last few days...

Serious thanks to all who work hard to help others - in the Target Thread and at SD. This is so often a refuge from the storm. hug

i was thinking about kohl's thanks to the inspiration from all of you. Big Grin but, i have to confess, i haven't paid attention to what a good price would be for them on ebay.

Hide

education please - how much should I be spending ideally on ebay for these? gracias...
and at the store... should i count on being able to find newborn things in the FAC category... like blankies, socks or clothes or bibs or rattles or stuff like that?

I bought mine thru the link shared here and split the 20 with a co worker. Spent $1.48 for 20 of the pdfs. I found a hooded towel (CUTE) for $4.20, saw 3 packs of printed onesies for $5.60, some socks for around the same for a 3 pack. Hmmm, what else did I see? Tons of shorts $1.20, tshirts $2 ish, but decided not to go that route, didn't really sell any good sales on regular priced merchandise, at least not like last week! Hoping for a good sale this weekend.

Im curious does it really have like 6 mos of darkness and then 6 mos of daylight? or is that just a myth? thats my only real concern with alaska.

TTYL Everyone, back to work I go Crying
Not a myth. Winter is tough (get up, its dark. go to work, it's dark. come home, it's dark). But you get used to it. That's where the outside stuff, like skiing and hiking, come in handy to pull you out of a the 'screw it, I want to go to bed as soon as I get home' funk. I moved to AK in December, so it played a number on my depression, but it was tolerable. You'll start to notice very quickly when you get more daylight- it's something like a few minutes every day. You wouldn't think you could notice stuff like that, but you will. And that will get you through the dark days Smilie

Summer is tons of fun. You'll never want to sleep- you'll want to go go go all day long. Buy some darkening window shades and you'll be fine- you can't depend on your body to tell you when you're tired when it's bright and sunny out at 4am!

I didn't do a ton of the fun stuff in AK because I was working at a homeless shelter for very little pay. But if you have the money, you can have fun. Hell, all I had was a bus pass and I made do (even if it was only weekly trips sometimes to the newly built Target laugh out loud)

Kind of like size 24 bikinis? Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) Now don't get me wrong, larger people need cute/sexy/nice clothes too. I'm in the diet group for a reason! But seriously, if you wear size 24 - DON'T WEAR A BIKINI. I saw one once...

hi all...
gt, parchment paper - walgreens has a generic brand that goes on sale from time to time.

really need to be super frugal on this but I'd like to be able to send them a few nice things. oxymoron i know, but we're SD'ers. Big Grin
Thank you. I will check there. Diaper wipes are always appreciated -- how about the Huggies wipes deal. I did a box up once with baby condiments. laugh out loud Lotion, powder, wipes, bath, etc. There are $1 off Johnson coupon.

Sturdy cardboard box, line with soft baby blanket (or 1.99 Walgreens throw). Unfold blanket and push down in box so it covers the whole inside and comes up out over the top and down the outside so no box shows. Fill box.

I see everyone is learning Kohl's stuff now.. please be careful with the Kohl's coupons. Some stores will slap you with a 'fraudulent' speech if they catch you using more than one coupon.. Frown Just spread 'em out over several stores, and be safe! Smilie
