I saw a commercial for it on prime-time TV the other day (one of the regular channels, fox, abc, nbc, I forget which one).

I went like this: Jawdrop

Because the book title says something like "the way of messiah" or something like that, I'm too lazy to go back to the thread and find his post and find the exact name.

Sounds religious to me Dontknow And I say "semi-religious" because he linked it in a job thread, so I'm sure there's more to the book.

If it were a coloring book, I probably wouldn't have as big of a stick up my ass about it.

But religion is a very personal thing and when a random person sens you a book that appears to be religious, I find it just odd/wrong/pushy/creepy//etc..

Just like you would find it wrong if I started preaching Scientology to you via PM every day laugh out loud
It may be, I don't know. That's what I meant, though. Would it bother you as much if the book he sent her was a different kind of book. (which you answered) I think (my opinion) that if you think it was wrong that it was sent the way it was and THAT is what you think was wrong, then it shouldn't matter what the book was. KWIM?

Now, if someone sent me a book on Scientology, because of the way I was raised, I would say thank you, and toss it. laugh out loud (While thinking WTF?)

Not to go OT or anything (lol), but does anyone here wear contacts for an astigmatism?

Back on topic, Autumn is free to use my address to send me stuff any time she wants. Whee (Mostly because I know that she'll say that she's sending it and then never actually send it. Roll)

I did in college - they were rigid gas permeables. HATED THEM.

Saved my nickels and dimes and got my eyes all lasered up and I'm a happy girl. nod

Yes.

Whats up?

They are weighted lenses so that the heavy part is always at the bottom...so the lens is on the proper axis to correct your astigmatism.

Next on the 10pm news:
Semi-religious book "soars" the Amazon charts today, due to a thread created on a deal website.
Here's Natalie with the latest:

Thanks Chad, seems some book sparked controversy on a deal website today. A member received it as a "Secret" gift and was very traumatized by the whole ordeal. It has since turned up multiple searches and has increased in sales by 80% in only 3 hours. We have a long time member here ( name will be with held due to fear of moderator repercussions.).. " I felt the book was too religious to be sending some stranger on the internet, but all the "Jenni's thread" girls ganged up on me and didn't feel it was religious at all. Who let them out of the kitchen is the real question here?".
Now another long time member from here in the Local Boston area who goes by the username BostonGirl said to me today "Seriously? It's a Censored book. Stop being a Grinch."

So as you can see Chad, some mixed range of emotions there.

I'll be back later with any updates, but for now I am going to see if I can get in on this Secret Santa thing they have. You get free gifts from random strangers, I just need to get 100 reputation points by friday.

Back to you.

Thanks Natalie, and on to the weather....

I know what you mean, which is why I said I wouldn't' have as big of a stick up my ass. To me, both are wrong -- what happened and what was send.

And yes, a commercial for Scientology. I had to rewind to make sure I wasn't seeing things (DVR FTW!)

I've thought about it, but they're too damn expensive (for daily wear, not the week or month ones). If i do end up in contacts, I just use normal ones, during the day it doesn't bother me, at night it's a PITA.

Why?
