Funniest thing I have read today!
Oh, I've got more!

It was prolly about a year ago when my oldest informed me that he knew what girl privates were called. I was a little surprised, as we had gone over the "technical" details of his own equipment, but not that of the opposite gender.

So I asked, somewhat nervously, what it was called...

His answer?

"A kitty."

EEK!

I guess that's better than the more common phrase. LMAO

My DD saw my husband in the shower a few weeks ago. He never walks around naked, or lets her in the BR when he is in there, but she opened the door while he was showering and started staring at him without him knowing.. She started yelling, "daddy, what is that on your butt?" then she ran out and tried to get my 13 yo to come see what was on daddies butt
This one happened just the other day... It was my, uh, "time of the month" and I was wearing a "back-up" pantyliner just in case. I ran upstairs to the bathroom and my almost 3-yo decided to follow me. He walks in on me and, seeing some stains on the liner, says, "Oh, Mommy! You pooped in your undies!"

Whee

I haven't tried vinegar.. Maybe that will help!
IMHO, I've found that while bleach helps w/the overall cleanliness of the washer itself, vinegar does much more to help control those nasty stank odors.

We were driving home the other day and my 12yr old son asked me what a "Gentleman's Club" was EEK! This place if right off of a major road in town right next to Red Robin, Chuckie cheese and the movie theater. I just told him its a bar... a really bad bar and he shouldn't talk about it to anyone else. I didn't know what else to say

I still havent talked to my son about sex! I know that I need to but every time i think I'm ready to I feel like I wanna vomit
Just IMHO, you might want to be careful about reacting so strongly to, what to him, is likely just an innocent question. The whole "forbidden fruit" thing... If it's that *bad*, it might also become that much more intriguing and interesting, and if he knows that he's not going to get the "real" answers from Mom, he might turn to a different source.

The sad fact is, you'll never be "ready". Just as you'll never be "ready" for him to drive a car, go off to college, get married, or do any of the other grown-up things that make mommies so happy and so sad at the same time. laugh out loud

Think of it this way.... Are you ready for him to be a daddy at 16? Bigeye Nono

Loiuse, if your son is 12, in public school, he already knows. Your duty now is to give him correct information. hug I know it's hard.

L2B, maybe there is something in your water line, or the hose for the washer? Does the water from the tap smell off? Do you close the washer lid between loads? It is more important for front loaders but mildew can build up in any washer.
Nope, the other water smells fine.. We don't have a front loader, just an old cheapie top loader.. and after reading about the smells you can get with front loaders, I am thinking about sticking with the top loader for awhile. But we do usually leave the lid closed, but DH runs bleach through it once a week or so. Could be the hose I suppose??

On the sex talk.. I can totally relate. Some thing that is so hard for me to do.. I don't know why. I am a nurse, and it is just almost impossible for me to bring myself to talk about it with the kids. I think alot of it is because when I grew up, my mom never talked to me about it. When weren't close in that respect. We never had open conversations about that kind of stuff. She never even told me anything about "periods" either. I had older sisters, so I knew what was coming.. and of course, saw the videos in school. But when the time finally came, it took 2 months for me to open up and tell my mom it happened and I needed pads. And then, I was humiliated cause she would sometimes make my brother take me to the store to buy them. I decided when I had a daughter, she would always have supplies on hand, and I would make sure she would never need to come to me every month and ask. It is a natural thing that as a mom I know is coming, so why not have things on hand.. Of course, I also remember waking up for school when I was in highschool and there being no toilet paper and other things too. Who would have thought thanks to SDing, I would never really need to pay for pads/tampons anyway laugh out loud laugh out loud

Did anyone else see this? This dad makes pictures out of pancakes. I was impressed by the dinosaur. Smilie

Cool, never could do that but I do make race car or Skull & Crossbones pancakes for DS sometimes.

The race car is easy just spoon on batter in rough shape of car body then wait a few seconds before adding two more drops for tires. When done flip and serve with the first side that was down on the pan facing up on the plate as it will show a discolored outline around the wheels since they were added later.

The skull & crossbones are 3 pancakes: Crossbones just a simple matter of pouring batter on pan in a line that is thicker at each ends. Make two and lay over each other for the cross bones. The skull is a pear-ish shaped pancake that about halfway through cooking on the first side I take the handle of a wood spoon and "scratch" eyes, nose & mouth on the pancake the holes fill-in with fresh batter from the top and cook with a lighter color on that side.

I never got the sex talk from my mom. Our sex ed in 5th grade was basically a class about periods, which didn't help since I got my period near the end of 3rd grade EEK!

Wait, I take that back, I did get the sex talk...at 20. I was in the hospital from a blood clot from the birth control. A little too late, mom!

We've had our front loader for almost 7 year and don't have the odor problem (unless the front seal isn't cleaned). I do leave the washer lid open because the laundry is in the unfinished basement so I don't have to worry about kids or pets getting inside.

Maybe try cleaning it and leaving the lid open between lids, if you can.

kallison, my mom didn't have sex talks with us either, or period, or anything else. It's something I made sure to talk to my daughters about so they are better prepared.

TheGhost, thanks for the idea! I'm going to try that... once I decide what to do about pancake batter. lol

I also now really want to make some furniture. I told my dad he was going to help me make a dresser for my dolls (don't laugh) because I am not paying $349 for this [americangirl.com]one at the American Girl store.

It's such a silly thing from when I was little, but it brings back some happy memories for our family and I like that Smilie

I also want a new dresser for myself Big Grin

Someone I know on a parenting site used one of the bathroom cabinets from Target to make an armoire for AG.

Hubby left here wearing his new attached to his head by the pin in his skull hearing aid this morning. Wow, you should have seen him yesterday. When they first got it programed and he put it on he was absolutely amazed. He didn't realize that when you cross or move your legs that your jeans make noise. He had never heard that. Then he picked up his fluorescent orange work hat that is some weird material (we had to leave straight from work) and couldn't believe how loud it crinkled. He about jumped out of his skin when we shut the van doors. We had to stop at Menards for more soffit material and he couldn't believe how loud it was in there -- I just told him, wait til you go to Wal-Mart. So, it was a pretty amazing evening. I can't wait to hear about his day today.
...
Congratulations to your DH. I hope he has a fun day discovering all the noises he has missed and NO headaches.

Awe, I just checked the house party site and got rejected for another party. This one was the one my DH really wanted me to get in on.. A playstation thing.. He had such high hopes I would get in and he would get some free stuff. I have always wondered how they really choose people. I can't complain, I have gotten in on several parties, but some have been much better than others! Some of the party packages have been awesome, while others are not even close.

I grew up on pancakes made from 50/50 plain Jane pancake mix and Jiffy corn bread mix. Makes a thicker batter that has just a slight crunch to it.

I know what you mean! I got into the one for Xcel energy, Wahoo. It was only for Colorado residents, so upped the chances of getting in!

Ugh... Baby projectile vomit = bath

We talk about sex and relationships A LOT with DD. You can't not talk about it - between what is on tv, billboards, and going on in classrooms - well. *sigh* I hate every second of it, but gotta do it.

I am using some vinegar that I curiously found next to my washer... It must've fallen off the washer once upon a time. Guess I should clean out the sides a little more often. laugh out loud

I like this particular bed [ana-white.com] so far but... I think I would like the idea of it if it were more of a bunk bed thing. I envision 2 beds on top (one on either side), a futon/daybed on the bottom of one side, and a desk on the other. I think that'd be a sweet set up.

The hanging daybed was fun to see. When I was a kid, my dad made one of our beds a hanging bed. It was pretty sweet (unless you fell out of it...)

I have a high sensitivity to noise and have suffered headaches for a most of my life. The weird thing is that there are things that I actually *can't* hear. I am not sure how to explain it really, but it is frustrating. I can be talking to someone and not hear/understand half their words, etc... Yet, at the same time, the tick of a clock or the sound of a pencil writing can grate on my nerves so badly that I want to scream. And there are times my eardrums hurt. *shrug* Go figure.
