and we're also debating getting a new tree this year as ours was a cheapie and some of the branches were falling off last year. Need to make a decision on that too.
EEK! what, you didn't mention the word clearance??? turn in your tcc badge missy!

i say duct tape it and then toss it after and meanwhile be on the prowl around new yrs. you should find one 75% off. when we don't get a cheapio one at home depot a few days b4 xmas, then i use my mom's 40ish yr old tree b/c hey, it's still good, why throw it out? but those clearance trees are so temptingdrool. if i found a 9ft one w/ lots of white lights i'd be so tempted!

i did get new led lights from home depot last yr but didn't get a chance to put up the tree Frown.

sorry for the migraine! i used to get them, not as serious as yours, sensitive to light and couldn't do anything but crawl into a bed and go to sleep. but for some reason haven't had in a long time, knock on wood.

shake head not a diffenbachia. i used to work in a plant shoppe in the botanical garden. i have a black thumb and kill my plants from underwatering.

Do you know what this is? I have one and I can't remember the name. Mine is about 3 feel tall with 4 or 5 stalks. All the leaves except the top few have fallen off. Any idea if they will grow new leaves? Or will it just be this ugly stalk with new leaves on top? Trying to decide if I want to winter it or murder it.
i think it's either a variegated peperomia (also called baby rubber plant) or a variegated rubber plant(ficus).

http://www.google.com/images?q=va...24&bih=578

or

http://www.google.com/images?q=va...24&bih=578

i think it's a rubber plant b/c peperomia plants are usually small plants but it's been so long.

it got leggy. not enough sun. you can cut it down and see if new shoots will come out the bottom. i just did that to my money tree. and i think i used a bad bag of potting soil b/c everything did really bad after i repotted.

Good Lord, she's getting Gas X for supper. I called my son and apparently gas isn't exactly out of character for her.
You will have to ban her from the potatoes from here on out, yucky, yuck, yuck!

Ok, got to get clipping and run to a T or two. bounce

Speaking of babies, my sweet little nephew pulled his feeding tube out the other night, and began taking every feeding by bottle! He will go home today or tomorrow!!!! with follow up visits to every specialist in the area, trying to figure him out. He will still need to get transfusions as long as his platelets don't stabilize.
That is great news! I'm glad he is doing well. hug

Did you change her food recently??? When we 'adopted' our tiny dog (someone dropped the dog off out at dh's dad's farm) we had no clue what she'd been on and put her on new food and it was H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E for awhile as far as gas went. We are pretty sure she is part chiuauau or however ya spell it, part something else (yorkie maybe???) She is teeny tiny....can fit through the slats of the baby gate even after she put on weight after being malnourished.

I should have mentioned the C-word Teehee

Looked around diligently all of last year and couldn't find ANYTHING....not even just anything that could work....just really did not see any clearance prices that were good enough on trees. Must have gotten snatched up quick. Black Friday prices this year for a tree are far better than what I was finding them for on clearance last year :| Sooooooooo if I wait until after Christmas this year and don't find anything I will be out of luck again. And it was falling apart last year already so I don't know what it will be like this year Dontknow

We are all very excited about the baby. My husband and I completed our family when we had our daughter River and have never had reservations about any of our choices.

As some of you know, my sister lost her baby last year when he was born at almost 24 weeks gestation. After a 10 day struggle he went to sleep forever. It has been quite the year with a lot of ups and downs for our entire family. Having lost Anthony was a very heart wrenching time for all of us and my sister was told she most likely wouldn't be able to carry to term.

Though this was an unplanned pregnancy, it certainly isn't one that is lacking in love. My husband and I have decided to have this baby for my sister. I never dreamt that I'd be pregnant with another baby, I never imagined holding my nephew seconds after his last breath, and I think that God gave us this blessing for her.

So sometime around July 20th my niece or nephew will be born into a world of boundless happiness and overwhelming love.

I hope that I can get the support here that I will most certainly need over the coming months.
Wow, what an amazing gift you are giving your sister! You brought me to tears.

Did a Kohls run, found a nice woman at the jewelry counter who let me use a few Qs at a time. When I returned everything, the woman at CS was PISSED. Whatever.

Bought my Keurig and it cost me less than $5. It's still in the car. I don't know why, but it's not making me happy. It's the Keurig Elite ($109- 20% for applying, and getting denied for, a Kohls CC)

On the plus side, T run went GREAT! Whee

Did you return the stuff you just bought, and if so, why? Do they not deduct the $5 coupons when they refund you? I don't know all the tricks of Kohl's, other than that great return policy with no receipts.

Returned what I bought with the coupons and got that back as a merch credit so I could put that money towards the Keurig.

I don't think they have a good return policy without receipt- they still take your drivers license number and you can still get flagged for excessive returns w/o receipt.

We have the stuff up overhead in the garage. He has stuff out -- table, saw, etc. that he is using for the soffit. So, I would have to move all that to move the Duster. I may kill him. I just noticed he put some other stuff up there. I had it perfectly arranged -- inside decorations on one side, outside on the other, with just enough room for me to get up there between them and hand crap down.
Funny that you say that - my BIL just sold the duster they had kept out of the machine shed at FIL's. I think it used to be MIL's.

Funny you should say that - I was going to type Count Chocula b/c that's what I eat every morning laugh out loud I didn't though b/c it doesn't qualify as a real craving since I'm only eating it b/c our grocery store has it free after q's laugh out loud

Be very careful about posting about this but no, they don't deduct - they issue a merch credit for the amount of the q.

Oh, not it didn't get leggy. It HAD leaves all the way down. Too much sun and wind and it probably could have had a leeeetle more water. Then brought it in the house the night we were having our first hard freeze and it was all downhill from there.

I bought some grow bulbs because there are a couple other plants I want to try winter. I would like to save this one too but not if it won't grow new leaves -- and for some reason, I don't think it will. It looks just a bit ridiculous.

Her diet has never really been "set". Last night I softened some of the dry food with cube steak gravy. I'll bet that's what did it. She was very well behaved in the van. And she left a few treats behind in the weeds at the lake.

Your dog sounds adorable.

Now what is this kind of talk? Don't you know you have to load everybody up, go out in the snow/sleet and cold and trek around, up and down the rows of trees for at least two hours -- examining every single tree at least three times. Then narrowing it down to two and spending another half hour trying to decide between them. THEN, you make your husband crawl underneath it and cut it down. And since he did that so nicely, you can then allow him to drag it back to the building where they shake it, bale it, and put it in/on your vehicle.

And if you're up to an hour drive to do it, I can recommend a guy who is really reasonable and has great trees. At least he did - I haven't personally examined them in a while.
