Soooo agree with this. Kallison, next year she'd be getting a card from me. Big Grin

GT, good luck! We're up north too and we're supposed to have lows around 0 next week. 'Tis the season.

Yes, I am soooooooooooo excited to be almost done with this. Got a ton of stuff done and picked up this morning. Tile and grout will happen next Th/Fri when dh is off....needed to patch some areas on that wall with spackle and put some caulk/sealing stuff on...wanna make sure it dries well. The tile part is way easy though this wall will be a bit harder.

I feel soooooooooooo much better with stuff cleaned up, especially the basement...there was just so much stuff (tools, etc) out that I couldn't get to anything.

OK, so did anyone see the preview for next week's ad? Apparently, for every $20 gift card bought at Target, they will donate $1 to Salvation Army. I am feeling in the giving mood... Evil

Im' still home... didn't take the car today which is okay because I"ve been to darned busy to go anywhere. We had pillsbury biscuits and campbell's soup for lunch - *laugh*. We're scraping the bottom of the barrel.

The van had something wrong with the idle and I want to say modulator or something like that. Anyway, it cost us $260 to fix - so with the tow, $364 all total. Not great, but certainly not as bad as it could be, so that's good. DH decided to take tomorrow and drag everything not nailed down or on our physical person to the last flea market tomorrow, so we'll hopefully recoup some of that. I'm trying not to panic! It's not that bad, right??

I have all my fans out in the yard trying to blow it your way. We can't get 9" -- the new snow blower hasn't been delivered yet and we already got rid of both of the old ones.

Did I read right that the P&G $5 Olay wyb Secret MQ is now beepless, even on the Olay bars that are under $5? Keep forgetting to add that to my shopping list.

Don't talk about your couponing freebies. It devalues fabulous gifts. I think that would be the first thing I would tell someone that is going new to extreme couponing. Just keep your mouth shut. People do not need to know.
I don't talk about much of it. But when they come over to help you lug boxes full of nothing but razors or lotion, they figure it out.

I don't think 364.00 with towing is bad at all. When I think of van repairs, I guess I expect the worst and am thinking in the 1000.00 range. Heck, we have spent 300 on regular maintenance work before.
I do *hate* spending money on car upkeep and repair though. You just feel like between car payments, insurance, gas, etc.. that you shouldn't have to pay more.

And I hear ya on the flea market thing. We are having our last yard sale tomorrow I think.. Most of my shampoo, deo, etc.. stock is gone ( been too long since the pantene and secret deals).. I still have quite a few cleaning supplies to get rid of, plus tons of pullups, toothbrushs, toothpaste, and some gillette BW.. I have other stuff but can't think of it right now. I want to take a load and drop it tonight cause I have a bunch of other stuff I want to get rid of too.. I am making DH pull out a big stack of toys from the attic and gonna try to sell the LPS, Trio and a few others.
Now, I am praying for a great sale to make some $$ and I am tired of all the junk piled in my garage. If I do well, then I have to decide where the money goes. I really want a freezer. I have missed out on so many deals lately cause I am out of room. But, my washer is on it's last leg and I will need another one soon. And, I really want to go ahead and pay money and book a weekend getaway for our 20th anniversary next month! Who has extra durex party bags by the wayBig Grin

It shouldn't. I was gonna get some yesterday. The 2 bar pack is 2.49 here. I decided to test the update with the wholly salsa first.. My 4.00 coupon went through beepless on the 2.99 salsa, so next time I am gonna get the cheaper olay.

My Dad lives just outside of Tekamah, NE (Just south of Decatur & West of Little Sioux, IA) And his Birthday present to me this year was to buy me a deer permit to go hunting this weekend. I will be driving up through this tomorrow AM and sitting in a tree stand Saturday night, Sunday morning & night and again Monday morning. Please pray for me I get a deer that first Saturday night. Why oh Why was it I thought this would be a good father daughter bonding experience?

and therefore, when they ask you "now what are you getting me for christmas" you look at them with a big smile and big wide innocent eyes and say, warmly "why razors and body lotion, of course, so you can take care of your skin all winter long." Big Grin

but seriously, i hear what you are saying. people in my life have gotten this way now, too. no matter what the thing - toiletries, cosmetics, food, electronics - the refrain is always, ah but you got it for free/cheap. who cares if it breaks, stops working, gets dirty. it was cheap/free. and you can always get another one.

Frown

i love giving presents to those dear to me, and spend a lot of time and thought collecting/selecting things for people and around christmas, in addition to all the time and planning i spend a ton of time wrapping so each gift is a story in itself and artistically wrapped and the packages are clustered in themes.
so makes me sad when i hear those remarks, because it seems to matter less to the people. but then i realize, if money is all they are using as there yardstick then they never would have seen the true worth of the present anyways, so what's the difference. doesn't change my intent and so i leave it at that.

hug

hope the furniture sale got better.
