LOL - I am glad to know that I am not the only one! Thanks for the thoughts for my dad --- I appreciate them more than know We are working on making this a really nice Christmas - my sister & her kids are coming all the way from Holland & my bro is coming from Cali so it should be nice. We won't be going to cut down a real tree this year as it is too much for my dad but we have a a decent fake one and we can have good laughs as he supervises the decorating of it!!!

I really appreciate the thoughtful & informative responses you post! Helpful to all! THANK YOU!!!!! Although - I think you need to get some overage & buy youself a few sweaters SILLY! It is TOO COLD to be sweaterless!!!! HUGS HUGS HUGS

THANK YOU so much for the tips on the baking! hug Oh and congrats on finishing the laundry worship you wanna come and beat me with a baseball bat until I finish ours LOL Oh and if I can join you - I would like a housekeeper as well!!!!

So my list for Santa -
Of course -- happiness & good health for my friends and loved ones
THEN - a housekeeper, Target to turn back the coupon clock a year or so, Publix, Kroger, and any other great coupon friendly store! Smilie Anything I am missing???

PS - Green when you are not shopping/saving money/organizing coupons - and advising us ... what do you do??? You just seem to have an exceedingly vast font of knowledge from which to draw!!!!!!!!

Gator - I am so sorry about the news re your hubby!!! That is awful! I hope that this is one of those situations where fate is looking out for you & that soon a new opportunity will present itself and you will be so happy that he "missed out" on this one!!! I can understand your saddness and frustration though - sending HUGS HUGS HUGS & positive thoughts your way! Also sorry about your microwave --- maybe if you can get some good shopping runs in you could collect some GC and get a new micro? Hugs to you and your fam - sorry about your Mum - I hope that this year is not so hard for her!!! HUGS HUGS HUGS

HD - Hope they fix your lappy!!! HUGS HUGS

Flu - I concur that you could do that for a living - it was very pretty!!!

Jamie - How are you doing? Ok? You have been in my thoughts!! Still sending P & PT your way ... oh and knowing you ... bet you hit all 70 LOL

M4D - Thanks for your tip on the liners - I have often wondered about them - I should try them!

MT2 - what does PC mean?

BTW - would those thermal patches actually melt a bandaid?

Who is still looking for the Hallmark Q?
heart

that is a really nice christmas you are doing with your dad. who cares if it isn't a real tree (albeit if you guys want, you could always go buy a pre cut tree from a christmas tree place). what matters is that you guys will be together as a family and trim it together with fatherly supervision. and take pictures. and laugh. that's what makes special moments and special memories.

also do you have a dollar tree near you?
someone here was looking for ornaments... was it kallison? i've been meaning to tell you guys, the other day i saw they had packs of felt, and packs of glitter foam for a buck each, both of which can be cut into shapes of course. plus ribbon of course and buttons and glue and such and even packs of plain ornaments (silver, gold, red, green, in shimmery, frosted etc). you could always get some, and have the kids decorate along with Dad. or make him an ornament from each of you. put the date. then hang on tree. it won't cost much but will be very personalized.

we have a tradition in my family... we add atleast one new ornament to our collection each year. usually one box. we generally shop for them after christmas, in the sales, and put it up before new year, as our new thing on the tree. it's picked with care and so then each year when we put up the tree and start doing the ornaments, every time you pick up an ornament it transports you to a christmas past and reminds you of some special day, or shopping moment.

i am totally not done with laundry, girlie. i was just done with it last night. sigh. there is still a ton to do. i've decded that in my next home i want a dedicated laundry room and it needs to be on the same floor as the bedrooms and bathrooms. and the washer dryers need to be humongous so i can do big loads. somebody should invent a steam press machine. put clothes into a dryer like machine. one by one they are fed through rollers, and steam pressed and delivered onto a flat printer like tray, so suckers like me don't have to launder then fold, then unfold and iron, then refold or hang. Faint

santa:
wish #1: BIG, GIGANTIC LOTTERY WIN, please, so there is no need to turn back coupon time, no need for coupons, no need for jedi cashiers and prayers at T. and oh yes, one could then get several housekeepers.

dunno if hand warmers will melt a bandaid. but they do get rather hot. cloth bandaid should be fine. but latex bandaid, i bet will get all squishy. and what the heat does to the adhesive i don't know. but it is certainly significantly warmer than body temps.

sweaters... i desperately need to get me some warm clothes, you are absolutely right on that, but internally I cringe at the thought of buying any sweaters. you should see my sweater collection... row after row of cashmere and merino sweaters. what i need are some new bright cashmere cardigans. but other than that, boy do i have sweaters. all drycleaned, plastic bagged and packed EEK!
ditto coats. i have so many nice wool coats. all packed. Facepalm

and my size has changed temporarily for health reasons/has been fluctuating unpredictably so it is very hard to buy anything because what fits one day doesn't a couple of days later. plus i know it won't be my size going forward and isn't my normal size, so i hesitate even more to buy. ya know? such a quandary.
i think i need to hit the cocktail lounges and hunt for a few hunks to keep me warm. variety and versatility, plus no dry cleaning needed. Big Grin

So my sons 13th bday is this week.He is pretty much a book worm..he never has friends over and he never goes over anyones house. Partially because I'm very protective...anyhow I said to him "why don't you invite a few friends over, we can go to the movies, bowling, order some pizza or they can just hang out and play video games. Well he wasn't having it at all he kept saying " I'm not having anyone over! "
Well finally I got it out of him that he told his friends that he has big flat screen tv, Xbox 360 and a bunch of games to go with it EEK! We don't have any of that! The tv in the living room is a normal 32inch and we have a Wii. No clue why he lied to them shake head

So he doesn't want anyone over because he doesn't want them to know he doesn't have any of that. ..... I told him its not good to lie to your friends! If they are really your friends then you should be able to be honest with them. Then he said he would invite one person over...I am happy about that!! When I picked him up from school today he said that he told his friend that his dad took the xbox and tv with him when he came to visit laugh out loud
I dont know why kids do the things they do!!

Forget hallmark. Made it to the second store and had blood running down my legs. I am so over this.

Dr called me in some medicine to "speed things along" and some pain meds. I just want to sleep through it.

I haven't listed any on CL but they are going on the 'bay for around $40, plus shipping. nod I would guess you could charge at least that on craigslist.

Thanks for the suggestions on the ornaments - I think that my kiddos will make some for my Dad. He isn't really a kid person - but he likes them from a far and I think he will like them deep down LOL But he can certainly sit & tell us how to do the deco!

lol - you need to get some overage and hire a couple of young strong folks to move your boxes for you to get your sweaters/coats!!! Especially if you have some health issues! You need to take care of yourself!!!!!!

Bunnies- LOL I love your posts! I used AOL years ago I can't even remember when exactly --- but I remember that I hated it! LOL I hope that you are much happier without them Smilie Of course, there is a little nagging voice in the back of my head .... what is this Google Chrome of which they speak????Confused

Louise - I would guess that it is that he feels a little insecure and knows that many youngsters value "cool' possessions so it makes him feel better when the other kids are in awe of what he has. It can be super tough to be a kiddo! When my oldest daughter was 7 or 8 and we had moved for the umpteenth time (we didn't have much at all - I was one of those teens in highschool who had kiddos) anyway I heard that she was telling people that she used to live in France & could speak french (which she would then promptly demonstrate by speaking gibberish) and then went on to talk about all kinds of stuff she had .... none of which we had. She grew out of it ... but I do get that it is tough sometimes!

Jamie - I am so very sorry Frown P & PT your way! I hope that the meds help - I am surprised that they haven't done a D&C that is what they did when I miscarried as well.

hug I am sorry. It is tough. I have been there twice before and it is never easy under any circumstance. I am here if you need to talk.

I counldn't bring myself to have one, either time. I feared the noise, the finality of it and that all hope was then gone.

Hey guys,

Will be heading home soon and will try to reply to my PM's.. SO, if you are waiting for me to send you something, check back in a couple of hours Wink

Been a nice day at work and I am thankful cause I feel like I am coming down with a stupid cold Frown

I know some of the TCC peeps here get multiple inserts and I have a need I was gonna throw out..
Anyone have extra smart balance milk coupons they won't be using? I am looking for the 2.00/ 1 carton and I think they expire next week. Was going to order some from the bay, but I am afraid they won't ship in time for me to use before they expire. I will be more than happy to paypal postage to ya!
