It seems like it can be BAD as we may start getting alot more limited if the stores see this especially stores that double, etc.
First dude is the We Use Coupons dude, that's the one that had all the jello from a news report earlier this year (who did NOT donate them). He has Krogers that doubles Qs to $1 (ie, $1Q ==> $2 discount)
Our local CBS station did a little bitty story on a local blogger who coupons and the station manager said it was one of the most commented stories they have run this year, so I guess it's trendy now to Q? Who knew I was trendy
If you are a Wagger, the Hallmark Tissue deal died overnight. I'm thrilled that I decided yesterday to take the morning off and run errands in the bright sunshine before the clouds moved in and made it gloomy. I only did 4 runs of the HM deal, but now I have plenty of funds for stocking stuffers.
On a EXTREMELY Bright Side, I had gotten the shaft on the reorder of my Brother's GPS from Black Friday and my first email resulted in a form letter, which made me mad. I took the time yesterday morning to spell it out so that a 3 year old could understand that they owe me $$ with this order and I got an email this morning that said they would credit $30 to my credit card as soon as it ships. Yep, I'll be watching!

Does anyone know how to get their Target mailings address updated after a move?
We moved out of my in-laws house and into our own house recently. We did not have our mail forwarded because we have the same last name and were concerned that we would begin to get a bunch of their mail on accident (this happened to my parents and brother when he moved out of their house).
I just spent about 20 minutes on the phone with Target and they said since it is a randomly chosen list of who gets what mailings, they are unable to update the addresses. I think this sounds crazy and silly. I asked if I could have them stop sending the mailings to my in laws address and then add me to the mailing list with my middle initial and my new address. They said they couldn't do that.
I just changed my address book/history in my Target account history. Does anyone think this will help?
I did manage to hit up Teeter, Publix and BiLo, so all in all a good shopping day and everythings bought for Christmas dinner.
Pot of coffee is on and those nice almost free Muffins from Publix are in the oven. Now I'm gonna go find a good Christmas movie and enjoy the rainy day

they also tinkered with the super jingle cash (buy 25 get 5 etc) and so the theory right now is that it works on a $25 amount post ivc, pretax and pre mqs. but people are still testing out the mqs to see if that affects the SJC.

hddvdtv... nice specs on that asus machine. asus is generally regarded as a good manufacturer. but you can find a better deal on those specs. earlier in the year (around spring) lenovo had a machine with the same specs save for one part - a 500gb 720 rpm hard drive. this machine has a 640gb drive. not sure of drive speed, but i'm assuming it is a 540rpm (slower read-write speed) drive. anyways the lenovo machine with discounts came to about 800 bucks. killer deal for a high end machine.

i have never owned an asus, but i particularly love toshiba if you find any good deals on those. they are well-made workhorse machines.
the wrapping paper/tissue part of deal is dead apparently. they killed it in an early morning/overnight update.
6 - 14 inches of snow. 40 mph winds gusting to 55 mps. -35 to -45 chill factors. It's still rain right now but I heard that it has switched to snow one county over. I don't know if I will be able to get to Target tomorrow or not. The stuff might stop but the blowing, drifting and white out may continue.
Advice on buying the iPod - it's giving a $50 gc, I have coupons for 10% off and another $15 gc. Do you think I should just pay for this at electronics -- ring the ipod, hand over the 10% coupon and have it scanned, then hand over the $15gc/$150 -- and hope they don't argue.
Or, should I have them take it to a regular check out and toss it in with some other stuff. I have a bunch of Beneful coupons to use - so I could toss in 20ish of those (I have more) and we need coffee (no deal, we are just low). Can't think of anything else I need. If I don't go tomorrow (with hubby) and go alone Monday I could poke around and pick up some stocking stuffers for DD.
I'm all for burying the deals but I would really rather just get it, pay, leave and be done with it.
Luckily a lot of our was rain, until about 12:30 pm when dd and I sat and watch everything turn over from rain to sleet to snow in about 10 min. time....that was pretty fun to watch. I have to be to church tomorrow morning @ 7:15 AM
When I bought the iPod on Black Friday I bought and paid at electronics....scanned the iPod, scanned both of the q's, and all the GC's prompted no problem. It all went very smoothly.
We have some cold weather coming in here too.. With a few flurries only.. But, a really cold windy couple of days in GA that we aren't used to here in the south

My oldest son has been driving an old car of ours since he got his license. I told him way back when that he needed to save money for a new one cause that one wouldn't make it too long.. has over 350,000 miles and leaks oil, etc.. anyway, he came home 2 days ago and said it was smoking.. DH, who is not a mechanic looked at it and said he though oil was leaking from a seal or something now.. But, DS decided he had to drive it to the movies last night to meet his ex girlfriend ( that story in itself drives me crazy!) and then he broke down on the way home
Anyway, disturbed my relaxing night last night.. and now, he has nothing to drive.. So, unless we get a really cheap used car deal, he better be taking online classes next semester at college
My daughter worked 11 - 7 last night and does again tonight. She got up about 10 and called and asked her boss if he wanted to get someone else to work tonight or give her a room. So, she is snugly ensconced in a room at the hotel where she works (night auditor). She got to town in the nick of time. While she grabbed her stuff, I threw her favorite bowl, can of Ravioli, a can of Chicken Noodle soup (thank you Target) and some pop in bag so she doesn't have to leave the motel. The only thing she didn't think to take was her swim suit. Cuz, you know, grabbing a swim suit is on the top of the blizzard preparedness list.
I tell ya, this darn cold is driving me crazy.. I don't feel horrible, so I am thankful.. just a nagging sneeze and cough off and on.. and when I sleep, I wake up with a stuffy nose.. Ready for it to be gone. Thankfully after a week, my DD is over it. My youngest son had it and is over it too.. Just lingering with me.. probably cause I don't get the rest and pampering that they do when they are sick

a hose seal that has given out (normal wear and tear in old cars)
a valve gasket cover that is leaking
neither is a big fix. if you have a good mechanic, he could be in and out of there for cheap (relatively).
the car smoking could be because of several reasons... oil leaking onto some hot surface and burning up. the car out of coolant because it hasn't been filled in a while/because he has a coolant leak or a blown radiator. but it could also be something as simple as a fuse blown on a fan.
chances are, it is something simple. and a good/honest mechanic will tell you what it is. did it smell of burning oil when it started smoking up? did he notice the car engine heat indicator go up into the redline area before he noticed smoke? is there any coolant left in the coolant reserve tank (generally sits next to radiator). did the engine oil light come in before it started smoking?
i wouldn't go by the 350k number. if it is a well taken care of car, you could get it as good as new with a few hundred dollars in repairs - a month or two of car payments on a new car.
plus, because you've had it in your family for so long it's a known quantity. never know what you'll get with someone else's used car.

I did get to go to Kmart while DD was at scouts - oh, and had a failed Wags run. I did learn that if you change your mind about something at Kmart that you can't return it right away. It would not go through at CS, and they said it's too soon. *sigh* Going to have to remember to take it back later (which is always a problem for me!) For you Kmarters - they had pepsi throwback 20 oz bottles for .25. Probably not news to ya, but...

Mavis is such a wiggly worm. (and a poop factory right now - she's laughing and making "music" in her dipe) I put her in her carseat for a second, and turned around to grab something from the kitchen, turned back and she had wiggled herself to be half in and out of the darn thing! Normally I strap her into everything, but the one time I don't and she's hanging out in less than a minute! Thank goodness it was on the floor!!

Oh - on the return to the GC - DD had offered to do the return for me, so I went ahead and let her do it. She said they didn't give her an option (I had told her to ask them to put it on a TGC since I paid part TGC and part AmexGC). She said they just scanned the receipt, the items and then told her it was going to the card automatically. *shrug* One of those "do it yourself" things, I guess. Ah well. If it doesn't show up, I guess I'll have to spend some time at CS. *sigh* The thing that is annoying is that I *could* have tossed the card and not had it - then what??
