Visibility is down to less than a block -- and that's IN town. From here to the South Dakota and Minnesota borders is shut down. All roads are closed, they have pulled the plows in and a no tow order is in effect. (I would assume things are shut down across the borders too). We've got several inches on the ground -- with the blowing and drifting, can't really tell how much. Expecting 6 - 12 inches and at this rate we will get every bit of it. Winds are 35 - 40 gusting 50 - 55 mph. It's wicked.

My daughter worked 11 - 7 last night and does again tonight. She got up about 10 and called and asked her boss if he wanted to get someone else to work tonight or give her a room. So, she is snugly ensconced in a room at the hotel where she works (night auditor). She got to town in the nick of time. While she grabbed her stuff, I threw her favorite bowl, can of Ravioli, a can of Chicken Noodle soup (thank you Target) and some pop in bag so she doesn't have to leave the motel. The only thing she didn't think to take was her swim suit. Cuz, you know, grabbing a swim suit is on the top of the blizzard preparedness list. LMAO
Yeah I'm not sure swimsuit would be at the top of mine either laugh out loud

Blizzard warnings out now tonight for here too....were just watches. Hoping ours won't be quite as bad as yours just because of there being significantly less snow but I guess we will find out! Just found out I will NOT have to be to church @ 7:15....they cancelled that but will still have to go to the later service at this point.

Apologies again to my SS. I was just going to pick up a shipping box at T, but they were almost $4.50 EEK! I'll wait and get a flat rate box at the PO.

I did find a nice little Kohls close by Evil MUCH nicer than the one I went to in GA. Now if I can just track down the Hallmark, all will be right with the world.

And, ugh, my head is killing me. Not the smartest idea to go off my medication so abruptly. Oops.

kallison... be careful with the flat rate boxes... take one of the free ones, put stuff in it and weigh at PO to compare what shipping would be without flat rate. generally it works out cheaper to do non flat rate unless you are shipping heavy stuff.

cheap boxes: uhaul. if you have a uhaul center near you, or any small storage place, they all sell boxes. uhaul has them cheap and they also have a take a box, leave a box recycling center so you might get something there for free.

another option: just ask target or kohl's for a box in which they got stock for the store. tell them you are moving EEK! and were wondering if they had any clean boxes they weren't using.

Sounds like hot chocolate and some of them there peppermint schnapps weatherdrool:

LMAO On the swim suit, that would have been the FIRST thing I grabbed ( seriously, cause I love the water )...then the space blanket , flares and shovel , glad to hear she can work and still be safe and warm, a copupla worries down hug

I really think I'll need the flat rate. I think I'm about about 10+ lbs.

I have lots of boxes here at home, but most are labeled 'couponing crap', which my mom found to be hilarious laugh out loud

That's FUNNY. I think we'd all understand boxes that were previously used Wink

Well, wags has an update it appears, in that MQs aren't supposedly considered for the Jingle Cash, but any Wags Qs are (still no word about Hallmark paper).

I wanted some stuffed animals for toys for tots and there's a cute little giraffe that is on sale NEXT WEEK for 9.99 and this week they have the $4 off $9.99 toys, so I was hoping to use the $4 off toy Q once the prices for next week was turned on and I was thinking about donating two of my $5 Hallmark RRs towards them (if I could find the right toy).

Should I run to town to check (before the deluge and BRRR Cold of tomorrow)?

In the past, if you need a free box and don't want/need to pay flatrate, I pop the USPS box apart and re-tape it inside out so it's just a brown box Whistling Wink

Blizzard warning here too. Funny thing is last night they said we'd get a dusting of snow but it would be very windy and cold. They were right about the wind...sustained at 35 gusting 50-60. A lot more snow than a dusting. It's blowing and drifting everywhere. I was on the road at 4ish and white out conditions in some stretches of the hwy.

So much for last flea market sale of the year.
