I'm not too sure where to post this, but I have a question for you frequent Target shoppers....does your Target charge you tax on an item before the manufacturer coupon is taken off? I just noticed my Target doing this...is this right?
the laws on sales tax vary by state.
some states are pre-coupon tax states. some are post coupon tax states.
yours appears to be the former.
mine is the latter.

to be double sure, you can google [state name] sales tax coupons and see whether you are indeed a pre-coupon tax state or whether target is mischarging/overcharging sales tax. EEK!

Thank you so much for the quick reply. Yep...our state charges the tax before the coupon is applied. Bummer.

Very cold and windy here but at least it doesn't *look* like we got too much snow....not as much as others at least. They were talking as much as 5-6 in. last night but it really looks more like 2-3 and that makes a difference when you are talking blizzard conditions!

Aaaaaaaaand I just remembered I think I have RR's expiring @ Walgreens today Annoyed I will either have to go out later or call and see if they'd accept them tomorrow (stores around here seem to be pretty good about that!

ETA: getgreen - Build-A-Bear deal looks pretty good but OMG my dd's bed/bedroom has no more room for stuffed animals!! I tried to go through and get rid of some awhile ago but they ALL have a name and story to her and there was no way I could get rid of any yet!!

wags has goody hair accessories free after RR beginning today. also activon. but if any of you want the hair stuff for stocking stuffers (clips, elastics) run, run, run to store cos they will get wiped out.

also, if you go to wags thread, i just posted a MM scenario. not sure how many RRs you have expiring, but you could do that to roll your RRs and get some stuff. Smilie

I'm FINALLY a fancy lady...got me a Keurig yesterday!! Woo-hoo! So flippin excited! The funny thing is, I'm really not that much of a coffee girl (except Starbucks) laugh out loud. I heart flavored coffees. Amazon looks like they have some yummy ones!
I bought the kids and hubby hot chocolate and me some Cafe Mocha K-cups. The machine is so freakin fun. It is definitely my new toy laugh out loud

So...I need to go to Kohls and the mall today. I DESPERATELY need clothes, but it is so, so bitterly cold and windy outside. I hope I get some motivation soon.laugh out loud

so far, money holders have been giving people issues - the ivc was not working as of this morning.

the HM RR deal is still working just fine on cards. buy 6 cards at 99c each get 5RR... so 0.94 for 6 cards... would be more if you're in a pre-coupon tax state.

I have about $11 expiring Rofl2

Roll

I have been trying to gradually get out of it 'til after Christmas ---- just too much going on to keep up with it too. I had a ton of RR's after Thanksgiving and gradually have spent them on sale stuff that I needed/wanted/Christmas presents/etc. but I do try to keep $10 or so going so if I want to start back up again I don't have to pay OOP or come up with fancy scenarios (or go searching for them in the Wags threads Big Grin)

I figured I'd pick up Goody & ActivOn if they still have them.....wanted to get one more set of the M&M's this week too....4/$10 minus $2/3 mq (all I have) = $8 for 4 bags, get back $5 RR. Been using them more for baking and stuff. Need to figure out my transactions more precisely.

yep, i kept mine rolling for about 9 -10 months. then in august, i cashed out completely. figured i know it enough that i can start up whenever i want.

then this fall and again now i've been trying something new, thanks to inspiration from a friend... going in, paying a small amount of cash oop and doing MM transactions, then using up those RRs that week or next week itself on non-RR items we need/want.
done. no managing RRs in large quantities. no spending hours on wags. and still only small oop and we get what we need that's not stockpiled (specialty items like salon hair products) or where the stockpile is running low.

so this week i spent about 6 and have 15 in RRs/SJC to spend. so $9 MM. not as lucrative as when i rolled in larger quantities, BUT this saves me a lot of time and plus gas cost in going to different wags, plus cost of buying additional coupons. so i guess in the the end it's about the same, though obviously, given an economy of scale, the big rolls were more lucrative.

I don't know how much we got. a lot, though. The blowing and drifting makes it hard to tell, but there is nowhere in my yard with less than a foot. Looking around the neighborhood, I'm guessing we definitely got the 10" - 12".

For the majority of last night, we couldn't even see the neighbor's houses. The only one we could tell was there is the one directly across from us and only because they had white icicle lights lit.

The winds shredded another neighbor's flag. It was fine before the storm. I have some damage to Christmas stuff but nothing that can't be fixed -- we think. Some poles on my blimp bent (expected). If I would have thought, I would have un-anchored it and laid it down. My hot air balloon (suspended from a tree) was fine when I went to bed -- not so fine this morning. Can't do anything today. The winds are still pretty bad and our chill factors are ~ 35 below. On the up side, we have a brand new shiny snow blower that is going to get a work out.

All the roads in this area of the state are either still closed or travel is not recommended. I think the no tow order is still in effect. Obviously, I am not going to make the (60 miles one way) trip to Target today. They damn well better not sell out of iPods. I really hope they get stuff cleared and the winds die down so I can go tomorrow morning.

laugh out loud Well, that was amusing. I just looked up and out the window to see my husband bust through a 4 - 5' drift with his big work truck. This is getting more amusing by the minute -- he is now standing on the running boards parking his truck cuz he can't see out the windows. The bright orange hat is just sexy now!LMAO

I am cold for sure now. 38 here. That's cold enough for me.
