Anyone have suggestions/tips/deals on something to send someone who doesn't need anything? laugh out loud

Yeah, I know.. send them nothing.. but that isn't really any option. It is easier to just find something for them.. less stress for me that way.

I am looking for something that I can order online and ship to their house cause we won't be seeing them before Christmas..
I started looking at that Fannie May deal, but would rather send them a cheesecake or strawberries rather than a box of chocolate.. The deal breaker on the thing is shipping.. Anything perishable costs more to ship from them. I really only want to spend no more than about 20.00.

Any ideas??

I totally cracked me up because everyone is all betty-crocker-make-cheesecake-from-scratch around here and it was not what I expected.

What about some type of wreath or centerpiece? Do you have any 1800 flower codes?

Oh, and I got a secret Elfster message from my SS that my box has shipped. I'm letting you all know right now that I will be opening it as soon as it lands on my porch! Whee

Is a gift card out of the question? Somewhere like Pizza Hut where twenty bucks will feed ya dinner. How about calling a local store and ordering something delivered. I know that HyVee grocery stores will delivery any kind of gift -- not just flowers or fruit baskets.

Or maybe even just a nice floral bouquet. Of course, I am in Iowa where everything is frozen. If they live in Florida it sort of loses the impact.

I did actually look at some wreaths.. But, they were all way pricey for me..
Sadly, no 1800 flower codes Frown I never got in on that deal in time.

And I was surprised on the cherry turnovers too.. I am not a make it from scratch person and feel very inferior cooking wise with most of you Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) I am a a cake mix and frosting tub kinda girl..
I like the pepperidge farm things.. that is how I would make them Smilie

Well, a gift card may be okay.. just finding a place is kinda hard.. They are.. well, lets just say, kinda not in my league. I doubt they would ever eat pizza hut, and other than a nice restaurant somewhere, I don't know.. I liked the gift idea, cause then it wouldn't be quite as obvious what exactly I spent.. They have plenty of money. He has already "retired" twice and keeps doing private side jobs..

A floral bouquet would be nice.. but I haven't found anything in my price range, especially when you add in shipping.

I browsed a bit on amazon cause we have prime and free shipping, but nothing jumped at me Frown

How about a really pretty ornament or a nice Christmas book. Do you have a stockpile? Would you be better off make a gift up from that and spending the cash on shipping it?

Ohhhhhh... I love the ornament idea. If it's someone you have to buy for every year you can just get them a new one each year.

I have recently been doing a lot of homemade pizza only to freeze the slices individually....then I can pop one slice in the toaster oven for myself. Makes a yummy, satisfying, quick lunch and then I can avoid frozen pizzas and overeating altogether. And I know that my same pizza that I make all the time is 4 WW points per slice so it makes it easy for counting too Smilie

Oh my....I have never done homemade caramels before.....they are to die for!!!!!!!!!!! Still in shock that I actually got them right on the first try and they set up right.
Oh, you always have the greatest ideas! I totally have to do that. I love making homemade pizza, and having individual slices would be great, not just for me, but hubby, too. Instant portion control!

GT, you made me giggle so loud, hubby asked what I was laughing about. When I told him, he laughed out loud, too. Big Grin It just cracked me up because you always have these awesome easy recipes for just about anything anybody needs, and then I was expecting this great and easy and delish recipe for cherry popovers. Rofl2 I totally get you on the tradition, though - some things just can't be messed with!!

How about gourmet caramel apples? My MIL sends them to me on my birthday and they are divine. Not sure exactly where she gets them from, I'll see if I can find a site for you.

How about you make a charitable donation to something you know that interests them or they have been affected by? The charity will send them a nice little card saying a donation has been made in honor of them?

I've done that to a few people.. when they have millions, my little $20 can't give them anything they don't have.. KWIM Smilie

ank, can you get the van to a place like AutoZone where they can do one of their free diagnostic tests? We had a similar problem with a truck many years ago and it was the brushes in the alternator that went bad. At that time, it cost about $35 to fix. Hoping it's something simple and cheap for you.

gt, those turnovers are yummy. So are the frozen Pepperidge Farm ones like they sell at Arby's.

laina and tootsie!
