My poor DS has been sick all day with the barf bug.. I am praying it doesn't spread through the house for Christmas.. that wouldn't be a nice present at all vomit

My friend took some pictures of the kids the other night by the decorations in town.. some of them turned out pretty good..

Wave hi everyone! I hope all is well and those who are sick or having ruff times, I hope that it all will mend quickly.

Its been tough for me this past month I just haven't felt up to sd. I try to pop in occasionally but even that's hard.

I'm still not done shopping or wrapping. There's just no time. I'm lucky I will have xmas eve off, but will use it to prep xmas dinner since the job was forced on me again.

Blowkiss I will try to drop by again soon.

I KNOW I'll need a drink by the time I'm done as well. I feel for you. Here I am at work nearly 3 hours earlier than normal in the hopes of getting off before noon. My to do list for today includes:
- Pack me & son's clothes to go to grandparents for 5 days
- Load all wrapped presents (including Santa's as we will be out of town when he arrives)
- Load presents I'm not done putting together/wrapping so I can finish them tonight once we get there (3 hour drive) **This also includes figuring out what to pack out of my stockpile as these unfinished presents are all "gift baskets"
- Gather and load The ShoeFly Pies, Fudge & Gift boxes/colored Cellophane to be assembled and added to gift baskets once at in-laws. (WHO EVER SAID MAKING GIFT BASKET WAS CHEAPER/EASIER OUGHT TO BE SHOT BY FIRING SQUAD!!!)
- Go to Works Bank to make deposit
- Go to my Bank to make deposit
- Gather and load ingredients & crockpot(s) to make potato soup & or chili - Mother-in-laws stove is broke but she is still insisting on having the family Christmas at her house so we are all having to bring alternative foods. Grrr...
- Try to take a shower and fix up hair before leaving or I'll have to find time to do it tonight at the in-laws.
- Oh don't forget at least one 5-hour energy drink so as not to fall asleep at the wheel on the way there.
- And all of this while I'm recovering from a week long cold


Finally, my husband has been off the last 3 days and what has he done????? According to my 7 year old son it has been: Sleep, "play" in basement workshop on making son a wooden airplane model out of pallet wood he got from work, and then more Sleep. I will admit the kitchen has appeared to have been cleaned up once or twice by him during this time as well but there has been no other significant help that I've been able to discern.



EDIT: forgot to add was also hoping to squeeze one last T run in before X-mas to use up last of Glade Q's somehow today. Probably at a T along the way since we are taking 2 cars up there, but now hubby is thinking of waiting until I get home so we can "caravan" up there. Oh, well.

DITTO - I've only been able to check in 3-4 times in the last 2 weeks. No time to catch up or comment. (Ofcourse that means today, my busiest day I'm making the time if only for my sanity.)

I agree on the asshattery! A certain family member on J's side stayed home with her 3 year old last Sunday because he had a fever (and ran that fever for 4 days) but sent her other 2 small children to the family outing. Now I have a sick 15 year old and a 16 mo old with a fever. J called and her 3 year old is better but just has a runny nose. Well, congrats that YOU WON'T have sick kids on Christmas but now I will. fark this shit! I have a feeling I'll be home with JJ tomorrow while J and Mini Thrift celebrate Christmas with his familly. Happy December 23rd my fine crazies! I wrapped my poor lonely present for DD this morning. Actually, it's not completely lonely, I got a pair of pink sock monkey pj's last summer. The girl monkey is at the beauty shop/spa doing hair, pedicure, etc. They are CUTE! I set an Oral B rechargeable on top of the iPod and wrapped it so it looks like one odd triangle shaped package and feels like something "real" not just something that could be anything in a shirt box. Of course there is the annual ornament ( on sale minus 20% off, thank you Target) and a few stocking stuffers.

On my third load of laundry, tidied up the kitchen. Don't know what the hell happened there. My kitchen is nearly always completely picked up and clean. (I can't stand clutter, drives me batty... errr umm battier). Going to back the Christmas cookies shortly. And one more batch of truffles. There is one more flavor I want to experiment with.

I have a couple light weight Christmas mystery romance books to read the next couple days. Thought I would go festive and leave the murder and mayhem for a few days. (Ok, how bad is this - when typing the word "couple" I typed "coupon". And I did it not once but twice.)

TM4D - did you try those millionaires? Are there any left? I put mine in a container and stuck them in the back of the fridge on the bottom of the pile. Have you ever done truffles? I could really get into this. I was thinking that next year I am going to start sooner and people are getting truffles. Then it occurred to me... the only people I have to get gift for are my kids (who are choc fans) and my mom. And how many truffles can one 80 year old woman eat?

Dreeme - your aluminum foil comment make me laugh every time I think of it. Maybe everybodie's ummm quirks will be tuned to the cheerful funny channel this year!
