Sounds like ya'll have been having some interesting times.

I should be sleeping - I am tired, but I just kind of don't want to go to bed yet. *shrug*

I checked out DH's Nexium RX cost. $451.71 for a 3mo supply through our mail order. Faint

tm4d- i think you need to speak to the mgrs at walmart about her shelf-clearing ways when you see her in the store and i would write to corporate about it. they allow her to do it b/c they are scared of her calling corporate on them, but you can do the same thing too. writing is even better.

and you should always tell them most likely she is doing it for resale each and every time you talk/write to someone. corporate offices do not like that at all. the cvs' here put extremely difficult to remove stickers w/ the store number and corporate tel no. on the higher priced items like aveeno and razors that say the product is not intended for resale and to call if you find someone reselling the product. i've already said how the supermarkets around here limit quantities.

and if there is something in her cart(s) that she has grabbed all of and you want some, i would very politely ask her for a few of them for your own personal use. and do it in a loud enough voice so that people in the same aisle can hear. if you recognize her and her ways, i'm sure there are other shoppers who also recognize her and so far have been too scared to speak up. and if she refused, then i would go speak to a mgr and call corporate. even if they refused to do anything, i would continue to do it each and every time. i would think eventually other shoppers would either ask her for some too or would ask you what was up and then i would tell them all about it and encourage them to ask her for stuff too when they saw something in her cart that they wanted.

it may take awhile, but i would hope that eventually either mgmt or other shoppers will step up and curb her ways somehow. she will never change her ways since she sees nothing wrong w/ it. i can see my hoarding sil in her, but thank goodness she doesn't coupon except for BBB.

you are doing her a favor. that she has 550 johnson and johnson first aid kits on hand means that she has psychological problems. even the resellers around here quit buying certain items when people aren't buying them so if she is reselling, that is not her primary purpose. no retail store sits on that much inventory, not even a walmart store. sq footage for storage costs heat, electricity, labor to manage the stockroom and you are losing money if you sit on inventory like that.

sil has had to curb her ways recently b/c her dh has been unemployed for over 6 months and she is paying 2 mortgages. and her kids have taken to making fun of how many bottles of bbq sauce she has as well as she cannot serve her friends expired food at her second home she bought for entertaining, just b/c she literally bought enough to feed an army. yeah, last count she had over 2100 plastic forks when i rearranged her pantry and she doesn't even use them most of the time b/c she has to minimize the amt of garbage she generates. she doesn't have garbage pickup at the second home so every time she goes out she takes along 4-6 bags of garbage to dump in the parking lot garbage cans and then somebody has to take the big bags of garbage home w/ them. guess who has to do that when we stay over Roll Eyes (Sarcastic). last time i was there i cleared her kitchen pantry and basement pantry of expired items, nobody wanted it and even her mom whispered to me that she wasted money and had a troubled look on her face.

sil would never keep herself in check on her own b/c she doesn't see anything wrong w/ her ways. single income and her kids making fun of her and everyone seeing expiration dates on food products when they pitch in to cook for the crowd she has over is currently keeping her in check.

DH and I are on our 2 night 3 day vacay from the kids. (my sister has them!) So we headed to Oklahoma to the casino. Lost our ass, had some less than mediocre sex and crashed at 3 AM.

Screw this. I can do much better at Target. :D
 I have a friend who always wants to go to Wendover to gamble and she has just started couponing at Target. I have gone with her a few times but I get bored pretty quickly when I lose my $20 and am not willing to just through away more money. She can gamble (hours and hours and hours!) She will get up to losing $100 and play for hours trying to will it back, she always thinks she will end up winning but lately has been losing about $100 each time. I tell her Target is my gambling and at least when I lose at Target I can usually just return some stuff and come out even steven. You can't do a return on the dollar machines. Target is my Wendover LOL!

I use "oy" a lot... :teehee: And it pretty much means "oh dear" or "what???" or "are you kidding me??" or a general "ugh." It actually seems to fit a lot of situations pretty well. It's kind of like "ai-yi-yi..." It's Yiddish which is a Germanic form of Hebrew. I kind of think of it as slang Hebrew, but I don't know if that would offend someone.

HOW have I totally missed out on the free nuts!!??
I don't use oy much but figured that is what you ment by it. I think I use the Homer Simpson DOH more often lol, not that I ever watch the Simpsons...

I have missed out on the free nuts too! :( I need to print that coupon and remedy the situation pronto!

I feel like I am way out of the coupon loop! I'd like to head to ST to pick up a prime rib roast (they are still $4.99/lb) but IDK what coupons I should bring with. :dont know:
I know I am out of the coupon loop and I didn't even find a single paper today. EEK! I am so behind. I don't know either what all coupons I should be bringing to T.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL :) Hope this year bring all of us with great health, and pray to god that all our wish comes true.

Hope everyone is feeling better after the stomach virus, it is our turn now, Me and my little boy (2 yrs) are coming out of it... My toddler was in very bad form, he couldn't even stand, always lying down, got us really scared.
Landed in ER for him, with drips on, now lot better. Have lots of laundry to do with with his puke and leaky diapers..i need some rest :)
Happy New Year! I hope all the sick peeps are on the mend and yours too. ER is NO fun at all, sure hope he is feeling better tomorrow. All that laundry and cleaning up the sicky messes is very draining.

Here is the Carrot Soup recipe that my Target peeps asked for..Also as I stated in the Target deal thread, this is not my recipe, I tweaked it from simple recipes.

2 tablespoons oil
1 medium onion, chopped
1 small garlic clove chopped fine
1 medium-large potato, peeled and chopped
1 1/2- 2 pounds carrots, peeled and chopped
2 teaspoons crushed fresh ginger root or ground ginger (it is a lot less expensive)
4 cups chicken stock, warmed ( not chicken broth, too greasy)
1 cup water, warmed
7 tablespoon whipping cream
1/8 teaspoon dried nutmeg
3/4 teaspoon table salt

1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
I don't do this in the recipe, it makes it less attractive..I let guest add it to their bowl.

I think the large regular carrots, peeled, works better than baby carrots..more flavor in my opinion. but try both ways,,

Chop the potatoes and carrots to be the same size so they will cook evenly.

Heat the oil over medium heat in a dutch oven or large pot, add onion and garlic, then cook for 5 minutes until soften.

Stir in the potato, carrots, ginger, chicken stock, and water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and cover with lid. Simmer for 20 to 30 minutes, until all the vegetables are tender. Remove from heat.

Using either a blender, food processor or immersion blender, carefully puree mixture until smooth.( I find a good blender works great.).
Return soup to the pan. Stir in the nutmeg and salt. Stir in cream. Reheat gently, but do not allow the soup to boil or the cream will curdle.
enjoy and feel free to pm me with questions..
Sounds so YUMMO! Thank you for posting, can't wait to try it.

NVM on the PM Tootsie :( Thread is gone. Guess I'll just have to find other things of her to comment on and get involved over there. Anyone have enough posts at AFC to access whatever area they were talking about that it probably got moved to??? "Controversy......somethin-er-other??"
Ok by the time I get over there everyting will be gone lol.

Does anyone have the DCPIs of the flannel sheets that went 75% holiday? I'd love to get a set for Mini!

Picked up some board books in the $ spot for a quarter each for JJ and he LOVES them and hasn't torn them apart. Even if he does I won't fret since the cost was sooooo low. Teehee

My store was still at 75% and they were boxing stuff up to go to Salvation Army. WTH??? I wonder if any stores will go 90% this year. The crazy thing is, I don't even need or really want anything. It's just the thrill of it all. laugh out loud

I totally agree. I like to pick up the kids' Christmas PJs for the next year. But that's not even necessary. I do way better with other seasonal clearance because it seems like there are fewer people anticipating the markdown. I cleaned up when summer stuff went 90%.

I apologize for offering unsolicited "advice." Though I meant well, and didn't intend to be bossy - I also realized that my response didn't seem to take into consideration how frustrated you are, and how overwhelmed you probably feel.

Though I didn't intend to invalidate how you feel - I am afraid I may have come across that way.Down

You didn't ask for advice. You told us how you felt.
Instead of validating your feelings, I offered advice.
I apologize.Blush3

If I was looking for a job (especially if I was desperate enough to be looking for a job at places I didn't even want to work...) and the manager told me they weren't hiring, and I suspected that they were - I would be tempted to call the store and double check too.

Its all good Big Grin It is hard to read things online sometimes because its not like you can hear the "tone" in someones message like you could if you were talking to them in person. So most of the time I try to stay calm because I tend to lose my temper 2 fast or I over think things. I do understand you were just trying to help hug

Yesterday I cought the stomach bug that everyone had...not fun! I thought I was going to die..there was no vomit but lets just say that my butt and the toilet were really close friends and the cramps were so bad. SO glad its over!

Seems like the stomach bug has traveled around the states the last few days doesn't it?? So many people have been hit with it. I don't think I ever remember so many people in different places being sick at the same time before..

I thought we were finally all done with it, but late last night my 16 yo DD got sick.. victim #5 in our family now.. atleast she is old enough to take care of herself at this age Wink I feel better today than I have in many days Smilie

I was able to get up and have my morning coffee today. First time in 4 days ! Good morning Keurig, you were missed.. Time to say a few nice words about our coffee this morning (even though it isn't Thursday worship day laugh out loud) I had a nice cup of butter toffee coffee with caramel syrup yummy

I wanted to head out early and try to hit some 90% target stuff, but just couldn't think of anything I really needed even at 90%. The PJ's were almost non existent at target a few days ago, and here, they didn't seem to be following the Christmas markdown schedule like last year. Seemed like they were on a seperate markdown. There were only a few pair and they were 50% a few days ago, even thought everything else was 75%. I may get out and hit another target this afternoon.

I hate to see the holidays go, but I am kinda ready to get back into a routine. Everyone here has gotten so off schedule. The big kids are staying up half the night and sleeping half the day and it is starting to get on my nerves. My middle 2 will start back with some school this week, and my oldest starts back college next week. I thought DH was headed back to work today after being off for almost 2 weeks, but he is still in the bed Confused

OH well, I am going to play candyland with the toddler (we love hasbro games Wink) and then maybe go to target!

have a great day!
