With SoCal traffic, nothing is really 'near' anything. When driving is involved double the time it takes to do anything.

I'm not even sure what areas are 'good' to stay in as I lived in San Diego County. Lemme jump back into the SoCal grocery thread and grab a couple names of SDers in LA. They'll know about decent areas/hotels etc. Not sure they would know which stores are jedi-licious.

Well now that we found out that you can pretty much 'get a permanent time-out' over there and then return as an alternate identity that puts a whole new spin on things Big Grin

No kidding, boring T. week. Can't get out of the house because I have another little one here. Works for me though because dd has a playmate! Haven't even looked at this week's grocery ads....my print ones will come in the mail today though so I figure I may as well wait now Wink

So ... found out Sunday that hubby's grandpa on his dad's side had passed away. Mixed feelings, because he was a very mean man, prone to bullying, etc., left his wife (who was the mother of his 9 children) for another woman, made no effort to keep in touch with his kids or meet his grandkids, that sort of thing. Funeral is this Thurs/Fri, and we had decided there was no way we could swing it, plus the van is in on shape to go on a road trip. Nothing major, just needs brakes and oil change, neither of which we can get to for another week or so.

So then his aunt calls and offers to pay, so hubby decided he could go. Then today, we find out that his grandpa didn't just die, he was murdered. OMG Faint Suffocated in his home, and whoever did it stole a couple hundred dollars. Unbelievable. There's still no way we as a family can go, but now that the extended family has learned about this, its like everyone is able to put who he was behind them, in the past, and they're all coming from near and far to be with hubby's grandma. I feel so badly for her - she is a passionate, warm, loving, traditional Puerto Rican grandma who has suffered way too much loss in her life. Daughter in the World Trade Center, son who died 6 months later from AIDS, another son who has mental issues, divorces in pretty much every marriage that her kids made, etc. Just makes my heart hurt. She still loved her husband, despite how he treated her and their kids, and I am worried what this will do to her.

Anyway, sorry to write a book, but just wanted to get that off my chest.

They did a very nice piece on him,this is really just a shame., hope they find the person. That's creepy .

Prayers for you guys here too Flug!! That is a terrible thing no matter what the circumstance, but sounds like a particularly messy situation for all involved. Praying especially for your dh's grandma!

I keep meaning to ask and forgetting. I had forgotten to give a TQ last week, and it is now expired. Will a missed TQ come up expired? They'll take it if it doesn't, but if it will I don't want to bother. Thanks!

You are looking for the 2.5 ounce. They are located with the other Planters items in the regular isles, bottom shelf. Not at the registers where I thought they would be.

There are Honey and Salted ones. I think the Cashew are $1.29. Didn't buy those.

They are priced at $0.99. TQ $2/2 auto adjusts to $1.98 for two. FREE
