My oldest son hasn't bothered to come up and eat dinner with the family the last 2 nights I cooked.. but, he gets up at all hours and cooks himself food. I was so mad when I was loading the dishwasher. One of my new SS pots has this nasty yellow bakes on grease on the outside of the pan.. scrubbed and scrubbed but wouldn't come clean.. suggestions?Found out DS has decided to fry hashbrowns this afternoon before I got home and made a grease mess..
trying to rise above pain and what better than you guys.
l2b... baked on grease: turn on the hot water as hot as you can tolerate on your hands (use gloves), put some liquid dishwashing soap on spot and then use a copper scrubby thing (instead of steel wool). will be out within minutes. i use those copper scrubbies on my pyrex dishes for baked on cheese etc. works great. and on stainless pans if something scorched at the bottom.
in other news, i am missing deals and losing money left and right.
still not in condition to drive my self places. and depending on the tribe to get me places is turning out to be a hotbed of tension. so that's a no-go, too. sigh.
missed all the T clearance. wanted to get some baking sheets/cooling racks but nope haven't been able to go.
wanted to get some clearance items and return on my full priced rcpts (bought just days before they went on clearance, apparently) but nope. that's a $50 loss right there.
and walgreens. don't even talk to me about walgreens.
or cvs.
or the grocery store.
sigh.
hope all of you with sickly ones at home find good health coming your way quick.

bunnies... do you have vegetable broth? you could use that instead of beef stock.
or, and this is just off the top of my head but what if you put the chicken in with some water, soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, hot sauce and ginger. let cook, then add in the veggies.
cook rice separately.
you could even debone the roast chicken, and saute the chicken with the ginger and above sauces in a deep pan, then add in the veggies, for a real stirfry. don't need the crockpot and will be quick, still.
and yes get the bowl!!
That bowl is nifty. I think I need like 4 of them.

I'd say you could dump it all in the crock pot (well, maybe hold the veggies until about an hour before eating) and cook all day with whatever liquidy type stuff you want.

Okay. This baby is tired. Rubbing eyes, blah blah blah. I took her and lay her in bed and she appeared to be sleeping but is now hollering. WHYYYYY don't babies just sleep?
You know that saying "sleep like a baby"? Pfft. Well... in my experience, if I always slept like a baby I'd be utterly miserable for the rest of my life!

Now, the veggies may be a different story. I can't help ya much there.. I don't usually do mine in a crockpot.. As a matter of fact, most of our veggies are salad, raw veggies, or those steam in the bag kind.
You could make a gravy after the roast is done and pour it over the roast and the rice maybe?
Thanks for all the suggestions for my pan. I haven't gotten to the store yet to look for anything.. I tried the scalding hot water, with detergent, and a scrubby brush cause that was all I had.. I will get some copper scrub things, and that cleaner stuff when I go out..
or I may look around and see if I actually have some baking soda to try that too
Going to target in the morning cause my DH is off.. They better be 90% finally.. I get so envious seeing all those things people in deals have found.. Our stores are picked clean.. Looks like vultures have picked through every item.. Hardly anything hidden or anything.. But, I am hoping to score some PJs..
