I am so much like you in that.

Meat:
For some reason I like the side dishes better than the meat. It might have something to do with growing up on a farm - where steak, roast, etc. was a daily thing. Fish sticks were always a treat. Smilie

But as to rare - I remember my dad saying, "I want to make sure that thing is dead before you bring it out to me."

Of course, we had our meat custom butchered and never needed a steak knife. Cut it with a fork....

On cheese Yahoo! I am a cheese junkie! When I get to the cheese aisle, I am half done with my grocery shopping.

I remember getting a cheese and onion dish at a buffet once. I took the first bite and was debating whether I liked it - and my husband said "Is it too much cheese."

I quickly corrected him - "There is NO such thing as too much cheese!!!"
I agree. There can be no such thing as TOO MUCH cheese!! I can eat cheese as the meal Roll

Another thing we all have in common. When I was a kid and got to pick out a treat at the grocery store I usually picked a bar of Philadelphia cream cheese. My grandfather used to bring cheese from Wisconsin. (Yes, we do have cheese in Iowa Wink) I could eat the whole pound easily. (No, I wasn't a fat kid. Just a fat adult)

You should put on a blindfold and try that rare meat. You won't go back! Well, maybe not real rare, medium rare to start.

Me. Too. Love cheese way too much Coverlaugh This is why the cheese-less lasagna my MIL made the other night seemed so odd to me laugh out loud Huh

Jteef - I understand that what that poster on AFC was doing was 'legit'....I mean anyone *can* go to most stores per their coupon policies and use that many mqs....legitimately. Doesn't mean they should. That coupon expires like 2/6 I think. 2000 of the same q in 1 month? She says she isn't clearing shelves (and maybe she's can order it in at the comissary, I don't know???) I just don't think it's smart to use 50+, sometimes 100+ like q's in one shopping trip. I hope the store gets reimbursed....and they should, but I can imagine how surprised the manufacturer may be to see that. I hope to continue to see companies putting out printables that come in that form so that we can use them multiple times, etc. but I'm afraid they won't when they see something like that.

I have NO idea how the commissary differs from other stores though when it comes to q's so that may be part of it...

Iagree Overcooking is sometimes WHY is it tough.

I had a friend that used to eat rare meat and I thought it was gross, but finally I tried it, and I've never been back.

I can barely eat beef for the fact that I KNOW where it comes from....let alone look at or handle it raw....to eat it that way I am sure people love it but vomit not for me either!! I don't like it overdone but I do like *most* of the pink to be gone.

Now, I know where chicken comes from but I have no problem eating that Confused I think it's because beef looks all....bloody....and dead and stuff.

Me too.

I used to say that - or "burn it". I have finally learned how to enjoy a medium rare steak, but I really love one that is Pittsburgh style - but that's hard to do correctly. DH likes his thrown on the heat, flipped, then served still mooing. laugh out loud

Roll @ cheese shopping! We're all lactose intolerant here, so we limit cheese. Love it, just can't handle it.

Baby update:

Pooping lots and lots of very green poo. You'd think she ate a box of fruit loops or gummy bears or something like that.

Grandma update:

They did not do the surgery. Not exactly sure why, but I think it had to do with her being on blood thinners. They did take her off of blood thinners and today she has had a TIA - a mild stroke. She still is not talking and has some facial issues. They upped the seizure meds, won't restart the blood thinners because of the brain bleeding, and are basically monitoring her.

Other than that... Had a baby shower to go to, slept a little, cleaned a little, and changed a few dipes.

Anyone know how much it would cost to fix a bent axel on a 5x10' cargo trailer?

Wave Not soon enough! laugh out loud April 28th Sadwalk I am HUGE this time and I am in almost constant pain. Frown I was taken off work yesterday by the dr. That is good bc the kinda work I do (I am a nurse) is hard on the body. Maybe a break from work will help alleviate the pain. Anyways, I should be around a lot more now though!
