I used to crochet. I have a 1/2 completed blanket sitting my closet. Been working on it for 6 years now. Wink

Me too... I started a baby blanket for first DS 36 years ago that's 3/4 finished (he got here quicker than I was expecting) and I just found it about 6 weeks ago in a box in the attic when I was hunting for the kids old Xmas stockings to give back to them for the grandkids. He probably doesn't want a mint green baby blanket now and I'm not even sure I could sell the idea to either of his girls at this point. At 4 and 7, they have outgrown the blankie thing. Oh well...

The Honda Odyssey was our first minivan too. It was blue and used from Canada - even had the KM on the odometer not miles. We loved, if we were forced to drive one. But now we have oue uber fancy shmancy VW Routan and will never look back it is super awesome, top of the line, sunroof, it talks to me like Kitt from Night Rider, it IS my cell phone... everything in it except A/C seats - which would be awesome!
Nice!!

You could finish it and donate it. I know our local hospitals give out small blankets that are crocheted by volunteers. I would take a picture of it for yourself first though! heart

Lots of sleet and snow here today. I got out early when it was just rainy/sleet. It is 25 degrees and light snow now. 4 to 6 inches snow in forecast.

Okay, I have seen snow. I want it gone now..................Big Grin

We are supposed to be getting it tonight.. My son was supposed to start back classes at college tomorrow and they already closed laugh out loud
I felt kinda bad, but had to make my son adjust his school schedule for the spring and he is only going PT to college now.. I just told him honestly.. he still hasn't found a job, his car isn't running, and with gas at 3.00/gallon, I can't afford to make that 45 minute trip each direction to take him to college classes 4 days a week.. I told him he must find a job and save some money for a car.. Or, he could try to get all his classes adjusted to 2 days.. He finally moved them around and managed to get 3 classes on Mondays and Wednesdays.. I kinda hate it that it is going to take him longer this way.. but, we just don't have the excess money right now. He has got to grow up and take on some of the responsibility.

Didn't make it to target today.. went to church, then to lunch, and after that it was just so cold and I didn't want to get out anymore.. came home and am chilling in front of the portable heater right now Smilie

Yuck, sounds like some of you will be getting icky weather soon. All of our snow melted here not long ago (quite odd for here) and we got a little bit in the last couple days but not enough to even cover all the grass again. Could deal with a couple more inches, though after Christmas is over with I don't much care about the snow. Past couple years we've had a ton on the ground still and more on it's way. I'm sure we will have plenty more before the season is over. Just hope we don't have ice storms. Remembering one Feb. where we had them back to back, power out for days, bleh.

DD's b-day is in less than a month now and normally I would have already planned everything, etc. and I just can't seem to organize this year Frown Plenty of time and just don't know where to start.

hi people.

tootsie, i've been looking at the pilot touring online wondering if that's what i want the next car to be if/when i can afford a new one again. sigh. looked at the acura and mb and bmw ones also to get a sense of what's out there. but man what's with some of them looking so rounded and car/van like. ugh.

and i am trying very hard not to Blowup at the speed at which we have run through cash, gc, ecbs, rrs -- all resources -- these last few weeks while i have been unable to deal shop. a whole year of effort by me to keep things on track and here we are back in the hole thanks to 3 weeks of careless abandon.

Crying Annoyed Ranting

in strange news... for the last 2 days i've been getting this horrible neuromuscular pain going down my entire right arm to right hand, with my hand all cold and tingly and numb in places. was so uncomfortable. and pulling pain on my shoulder blade. well today i was in bed and i went to move and heard this loud pop/click in my shoulder. and just like that the nerve pain almost disappeared.

Scratchhead

i'm grateful. very grateful, but i have to wonder what is going on in there. my shoulder still hurts like heck. just differently. wierd.

Ugh. Nothing like your husband going out of town and you getting sick! While trying to care for your 3 kids. Gah. Thankfully hubby is back home now.

The funeral was very nice. He discovered his grandpa was a decorated soldier. We knew he was a vet, but didn't realize about all his medals. Such a shame. And hubby said it was so sad to walk into his grandpa's house and realize how he had been living. Had pics of his family everywhere, no frames, just taped to the wall. Pics of grandkids, etc. And the house definitely showed signs of a struggle, with blood on his pillow and the wall. So very sad.

So much love from the family at the funeral, and he removed himself from it all while he was alive. Heartbreaking.

One very nice gesture was hubby's dad (who was estranged from his father and at first refused to go to the funeral) arranged for the local chapter of Patriot somethings (can't remember the second word in the name) to ride at this funeral. Its a group of motorcyclists who escort funeral processions of veterans. They take great honor and pride in doing it, and hubby got some neat pictures of them.

Anyway, I have the rest of this evening to rest up and feel better, and then tomorrow get back to work. Little man is feeling well enough to go back to school, and I must get to shopping.

House is quiet - hubby is with little man at church and the two girls are watching Sleeping Beauty. Think I'm gonna go in the kitchen and try my hand at yogurt pancakes. Need to use up this Chobani that I got so cheaply! Big Grin

LOVE LOVE LOVE my Pilot. I can't recommend it enough. Although, mine is a 2004 so it's getting up there in age. I've had it for 7 years! I keep an eye on what vehicles are out there for out next one too. I've looked at the Acura MDX, the new Pilots of course, the BMW X5, etc.

I hate that you are STILL dealing with this awful pain Frown

Yes, that is what they are called! My FIL rides in his local chapter, I just couldn't remember the name of them. Blame the Nyquil! laugh out loud

We are about to retire our trusty old Mazda MPV, and just beginning to look for our next vehicle. Has to be economical, but definitely bigger than what we have right now. We have only had our van for 4 years, but have put a lot of miles on it, and its starting to show its age, poor girl. Its always been possessed since we bought it, due to a faulty after-market keyless entry system someone installed. The doors will automatically lock and unlock at will, particularly when its raining or snowing or otherwise adverse conditions. The only way to unlock all the doors when this happens is to insert the key into the passenger side door. So let's say I'm putting the kids into their car seats and it all of a sudden locks (while pouring rain, if you recall). I have to insert the key into the passenger side door, unlock the door, then race around the van, hoping to beat the mechanism before it randomly locks again. Laugh if you must, at the spectacle I must be. Hubby does... I make sure to call him every single time it happens, and the height of my frustration is exactly equal to the number of times I had to run around the van. I believe my record so far is 4.

Time for a new vehicle? Yes, I believe it is.
