SO do tell is it the maintanance man or the fed -ex guy, I bet it's fed -ex, I know it was the uniform.
Careful he'll be wanting to jump them sore bones, what with all the eye-lash batting and headlights on ..
plus it's not in the current budget, although things could/might/should change on that front hopefully in the next several months. i won't do lexus or toyota anymore. don't trust em, and the thought of being in a wreck because you couldn't control the car gives me the shudders after this accident. i have not driven a car since the accident: 3 weeks + and counting. and the few times i have been out (for medical stuff) even being a passenger at lights has been getting me really anxious. sigh. i trust hondas, so maybe an acura... or a pilot. perhaps MB if things change dramatically on the financial front. we grew up in those and I trust the brand a lot. for me, it's not about the status factor. i don't care two pennies about such shallow determinations. but i do care about safety, reliability, comfort, and amenities. i love, love, love driving and drive a lot, so for me having a very comfortable car (and a spacious one) with a steering wheel that isn't freezing/burning hot because of the weather, or mirrors that aren't iced over, or a clunky cluttered dash area, is important. you know?
2. with all of you mentioning the diet thread i got curious and went over. skimmed through the last 2-3 pages of that thread but gave up after pain got bad. but i saw slowtech mentioning hot dogs without nitrites/nitrates. slowt, whole foods used to be an overpriced store. now they're actually a magical store with amazing deals on wonderful food. plus they're a well-kept secret. no shelf clearers, and most people don't check it out because they remember the overpriced days. go! and subscribe to the WF thread here. it's a small group and we share great deals with each other. so anyhoo, they have applegate farms organic hot dogs with no added nitrite/nitrates. the hot dogs go on sale everycouple of months, as low as 2/$3. each pk has 8 dogs, making it less than 20c each! i often get the turkey and chicken ones together with beef ones to mix it up. they last a while unopened in the fridge.
i think i saw a 2011 acura on the road and thought it was ugly but i hope i was wrong. i think all suvs are going too far w/ the muscular front, rounded backs and bug-eye lights. not that i think dh's 2001? acura is goodlooking either. i call it the big marshmallow on wheels. or the acura that couldn't decide if it was a minivan or suv. it kind of looks like a jacked up minivan.
if you like driving, would you consider the x5? a good friend likes to drive and would have gotten it except for the fact that the cargo area was smaller than a sedan's and he has 2 kids. so he got an mdx instead. but his wife still preferred her honda odyssey. he later went to germany and picked up a bmw sedan to drive to work.
and i have to tell you a funny story. after all of bff's talking and shopping around for a car, about 6 months after she bought the mdx she tells me she really likes the toyota sequoia, sigh! are you for real?!?! i know she was saying that b/c she realized the acura is really on the small side for her family and business needs. i told her i don't want to hear it b/c it was the very first car i ever suggested b/c a friend absolutely loves his and raves about it. i know she never even considered it b/c she had her heart set on a smaller, sportier car even though a bigger car would have been better for her 4 kids, carseats and double stroller. and then she bought a beach condo 2 hrs away and really, really could have used a bigger car! i told her the 3rd row is really small and when it's up there is no room for luggage and stuff. a bigger car like the pilot has more cargo room.
2. i subscribed to the whole foods thread. been meaning to go b/c i have a whole bag of #5 plastics to be recycled.
i also like to go to wegmans, esp in the summer, b/c their produce is very local and better quality than shoprite. i've gotten cauliflower literally the size of a basketball from the farmers market and one wk wegman had them also, so i know they got them locally. they also have good prices on store brand basics and other stuff during the holidays.
In other crazy news. I wish I had a big old hunk of crispy bacon. Methinks that night time is a bad time for me - I want to eat!

You sound like a friend I had. She had a hard time prepping and eating meat products - especially chicken.
Kroger and ST are definitely good to me. Don't know what I'd do without 'em. Now the thing I'd love to get good deals on is fish. I won't buy the marked down fish here - I did that once and it was not a good experience. There are just some things you shouldn't buy on manager's special! I wish we could eat it more often, but it's crazy expensive.

Personally, I have to wonder how much input the manufacturer has on such things as how a coupon is coded. To me, the intent of any BOGO coupon, no matter how its coded, is to entice the consumer to purchase two items with the bonus of one being free. How the consumer chooses to pay for the remaining item, whether with coupon or cash, is up to them. With that being said, I avoid beeps/issues as much as possible, and if a certain combination is going to not work at any particular store, I will abide by their system.
Stinkin' cold here, and we're supposed to be getting some snow this afternoon/through the night. Only supposed to get 2-4" though. Enough for a snow day tomorrow, but that's about it.
Off to get my fancy cup of coffee!!

Fine snow is still falling. It's been pretty much nonstop since sometime in the middle of the night Sunday. We have gotten our 7 - 10 inches. Getting ready to head out and fire up the snow blower. Temps are supposed to drop and winds pick up this afternoon so I want to get it done.
After that, I don't know. Going to do a couple loads of laundry and put away some that is sitting on the dresser instead of in it.
Dr is closed again as well.
Snowed some this morning, just adding to the 10 inches we've already got.
From al.com: "Alabama Department of Transportation. Johnny Harris, the DOT's division engineer, said the agency has a total of about 15 snow plows and graders for Madison, Morgan, Limestone, Jackson, Marshall, DeKalb, Etowah, Cherokee and Cullman counties."
Note this is 15 plows and graders for 9 entire counties. Marshall, Jackson, Dekalb and Cullman all have mountainous areas. I'm sure I'll never see a plow in my neighborhood.
