Ugh. I am so glad you told me that. I have really been considering it...not now. I could NOT deal with another pregnancy at this stage of my life but I do not want to deal with that kind of pain either.

I have a Masters degree in whippin'theshitouttatarget.
I just thought it was funny, out of all the things in the world that could've been in that box, it was a Keurig.
As for the question, "What do I do?" I have a degree in Chemical Engineering, worked in Environmental Engineering (which I really liked), & have my Professional license in Civil Engineering. I had kids & "temporarily" took off work to be my kids' mom when they were born. They both turned out to be on the autism spectrum. I became educated in autism. I became educated in medical issues associated with autism. I became educated in special education law. I became educated in navigating the secret mazes of getting services for them. I became obsessed with getting them better. They required a large chunk of time & energy, & there was no practical way to return to work for a long time.
Unfortunately, I do not feel like I have the ability to return to my career now. I guess I gave it up, but I didn't mean to. In the meantime, I started some pretty successful online support/discussion groups to help families w/ disabilities. I've "run" them for about 7 yrs. now. I recently started up really successful facebook pages for them. In reality, all of that has been an 80+ hr / week volunteer job.
In July, I started a 1 day per week job (from home - yipee!) in a related field (helping families of children w/ special health care needs). Next week, that increases to 3 days/week (thank God). I enjoy the work, but it isn't exactly engineering wages.
That's WAY more than you ever wanted to know about me, I'm sure. Sorry for being so long-winded.
