I decided to start making myself morning coffee at home in an effort to save $. So I got some good coffee from my favorite stand and some yummy looking creamer (honey vanilla cream). Got out the coffee pot that I haven't used in over a year and cleaned it, got it all ready... went to take a sip. It smells like miso soup.
I was thinking the coffee pot was burning the coffee and was just going to use it as an excuse to get a new one which I wanted anyway. But I think it's the combo of this coffee mixed with the creamer that makes the gross smell.
I decided to start making myself morning coffee at home in an effort to save $. So I got some good coffee from my favorite stand and some yummy looking creamer (honey vanilla cream). Got out the coffee pot that I haven't used in over a year and cleaned it, got it all ready... went to take a sip. It smells like miso soup.
I was thinking the coffee pot was burning the coffee and was just going to use it as an excuse to get a new one which I wanted anyway. But I think it's the combo of this coffee mixed with the creamer that makes the gross smell.

This is a different bean than they use in the espresso machines where I go, obviously, but I thought if I like their espresso beans so well, I'd probably like the beans they roast for regular coffee pots, too. So far... meh. Certainly better than folgers or something and don't have the burnt taste of Starbucks.
My drink (only when at my usual stand) is an iced white chocolate americano with one inch of nonfat milk. The white chocolate they use is this powdered stuff. It, combined with their coffee, tastes very rich and caramely kind of reminds me of creme brulee.
