Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

Ohno!! Thats Alaskalady!!! I wont do anything with Apple! Avoid them like the plague!! Got my son something to put his music on once and it would only use I-tunes and you had to pay for each song and if you redownload you have to pay again!!! If I buy a song its mine!!! He couldnt even put his own songs on it
Very good, and if you must use an Apple device, there are plenty of third-party software programs that will work with them and avoid using Apple software.

Safari is Apple and it's not a good browser. Use Firefox or Chrome or Opera or one of the browser based on those, but stay away from IE and Safari.

My freshman year of college was when a no-longer existing program called MyTunesRedux came out -- it detected all of the computers with iTunes on your network and allowed you to share each others' music. That, coupled with the fact that every student was provided with a laptop meant that we had a music collection several times larger and more diverse than most libraries.

I really like Chrome now that Im used to it. The only think I miss about IE is it would highlight the text when you do a search and take you to what your search was.

Yeah, my son got mad at his. Said if he owned it he could put what ever he wanted on it. He mostly uses it to store recordings of himself on it so he can hear how he sounds!
Thanks to the way corporations have been warping the whole concept of copyright and patent, the idea that you own what you buy is kind of getting destroyed...

Not familiar with how that works. In Firefox I can highlight something and right-click and choose Search for and it will open the search in a new tab.

What 3rd party software would you recommend that works with ipods?
Have itunes on my girls' laptop, and haven't had a problem...but after seeing all the problems Alaskalady has been having, figure it wouldn't hurt to try something else, non-Apple.

Looking at that survey they're looking at some high-end demographics. I'll enter it, I'd sell it and buy a computer. Wink

Well first off, there is one thing you can't do without iTunes, and that is buy license music from the Apple Store. As long as she gets her music from other sources then she can use other software.

I honestly couldn't recommend one, since I don't use an ipod. Gizmo's Freeware [techsupportalert.com] is a great site for finding Windows programs, they usually have stuff narrowed down to the best in class, try checking there. I set up something for a friend about a year ago, I think I used YamiPod [yamipod.com]

We only buy license music from the Apple Store when my girls get iTunes gift cards, which hasn't happened in over a year, so shouldn't be a problem.
I will check out Gizmo's & YamiPod. Thanks for the info!
