Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

OMG Just got this email from my electric company. This is not good news...

"PSE&G is advising customers to be prepared for possible wide-spread and lengthy power outages as a result of the major winter storm that is currently hitting its service territory. The National Weather Service has issued winter storm warnings throughout New Jersey until Wednesday evening. Significant snow and ice accumulations are possible in some areas.

While PSE&G has extra personnel and supplies on hand for electric and gas storm-related emergencies, the utility believes there is the potential for wide-spread and lengthy power outages.

"If weather forecasts are correct, we could experience significant damage to our power lines due to icing and tree issues," said PSE&G President and COO Ralph LaRossa......"

Lengthy power outages? I sure don't like the sound of that! How am I going to get my daily SD fix? EEK!

We have a generator, fuel, plenty of wood for the woodstove, enough food to last for a week. I guess we'll have to alternate between the refrigerator and the router/TV. Wink

That is sweet, but there is no way something that big would fit in my little apartment. My TY for the thought. Went looking at T.V. this evening can anyone tell if its a big deal between 720 P and 1080 P, is there very much difference? I know there is in price.

Woohoo again! School will be closed again tomorrow due to frigid temperatures!
Currently, it is -2 or -23 with the wind chill factor.
Originally thought tomorrow was to be warmer, but now forecast to be COLDER than today.
No more snow though...just got an inch yesterday....so that's good.

There is really only a difference if you are watching blu-ray and if the tv is above 32 inches. The only programing you can get a 1080p signal is with blu-ray

Actually, that's a really good idea. Long time ago, I moved into a rental house that didn't have a fridge for the first week or so.....used a couple of big coolers & the cold Nebraska temps until one was installed. Worked just fine. nod

Oh yeah, it sounds like a great plan. However, we got the generator at a yard sale last spring. We fired it up to make sure it starts, but neither of us has actually used a generator to supply power inside our house. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed we'll be able to figure it out tomorrow morning.

Ya that is the exact size I want to get a 32 inch thats the biggest that will fit in my entertainment center and I don't have a blue ray so I should be good with a 720P then right found a good deal at Wally World for 32" for $298.00. it's a emerson is that a good brand?

Maybe you could try to figure it out tonight...before you potentially lose power. Plus, there are lots of smart folks on here with experience/expertise in most every subject, that I imagine would be happy to help with questions/problems. Just a thought.
