OMFG!!! I will never buy anything from IKEA again!

I can't tell you how pissed/dissapointed/ashamed/angered by the way I was treated at IKEA today.
Background: I bought two chairs from ikea for my livingroom thinking they would work great, I was excited so I removed the packaging and took it down to the recycling...this was 5 days ago... I decided that the chairs were too low and really didn't look good in the living room so I was going to take them back
What Happened: So I wait for about 15minutes to get to a return agent and was like I want to return these two chairs because they just don't work in my apartment.
"Ikea":She says we cannot accept returns without the packaging.
"Me":I said that your policy doesn't say you can't it asks to please have the packaging but doesn't say that it is absolutely necessary for the return so your policy is vague
"Ikea": Well I can do it less a 20% fee on each chair
"Me": I said ridiculous that you are going to charge me 30 dollars for some cardboard and plastic. May i please speak with a manager
"ENTER JOHN THE MAN FROM SWEDEN"
"WHAT I WAS THINKING BEFORE HE GOT HERE": maybe he will make an exception, maybe we could cut it to 10%...hopefully he is having a good day
"John": Friendly handshake to me and a smile...How is it going today?
"Me": Well hi John it seems that im having some trouble returning these two brand new 5 day old chairs without some cardboard and plastic, what can you do for me.
"John": (Swedish Accent) Well I can do for you what the cashier already offered, a 20% deduction on each chair because we can't resell them as new and will have to go to the AS-IS department.
"Me": John I understand, but as a loyal customer who has spent thousands of dollars im asking as a 1 time favor to give me the full refund
"John": No..I am not going to do that for you, so you can keep the chairs or take the 20% discount
"Me": Slightly raised voice so others behind can hear me, so you care more about the dollars and cents than the satisfaction of your customers as stated on all of your IKEA receipts
"John": That is correct
Meanwhile: a guy next to me is returning what looks like 6 metal braces some without packaging and i point that out I say this guy is getting a refund without all the packaging, so you should return mine
"John":Well the ikea employees know what the packaging looks like and some of those sometimes don't have packaging (BASICALLY BULLSHITTING ME WHEN I TOTALLY CALLED THEM OUT ON THEM ARBITRAILY APPLYING THEIR POLICY)
"Me": Fine you know what ill keep my chairs and see you in small claims and writing a strongly worded letter to your superiors with the guidance of my attorney
"John": Do what you like, good luck in small claims (Swedish Accent) I'll walk you out the door.
"Me": (Thinking) Walk me out the door what am I going to do steal something, ridiculous, I feel like a criminal. I turn to John and say ok look let's just return this for the 20% less and let this be over with it isn't worth the headache
"John": (ignoring me at first) I have to tend to other customers...
"Me": I plead some more (realizing that im basically begging to return these)
"John": Ok that's fine
NOW THIS IS WHAT PISSED ME OFF...
He starts processing the return and asks for my ID kinda joking with me
"Me": So john don't you think your return policy should state : We cannot accept returns without orignal packaging.
"John": no because it is open to interpretation the way it is, why do you think we say please bring the packaging.
"Me": well I imagine that you expect it but will work with customers who through trash away, and that is my point if you state that we cannot accept returns without packaging you won't have headaches like me
"John": (Kinda snickers) Well if we change the policy then it will be something else in the policy
"Me": Not if you make it clear and not vague
THEN HE STARTS WRITING MY REFUND ON A WHITE CARD
"Me": That isn't a gift card is it?
"John": yes it is
"Me": I paid with cash your policy written above your head says "Refunds will be issued in the same form of original payment"
"John": But im doing you a favor i didn't have to take them back
"Me": You are doing me a favor by giving me $30 dollars less than I paid for and giving me store credit which clearly is not in your policy, and for a giftcard to a store that I vow to never shop at again, ill take my chairs and I will begin my court filings thank you.
"John": well see that is the 20% policy since im bending the rules for you im giving you a giftcard
"Me": Take care im taking the chairs and ill make sure to name you in the small claims suit
Then some kid walks me out I ask him who the top manager is: He says his name is johnny but isn't permitted to give out the last name
ERRRRR IM FUMING MAD RIGHT NOW

IKEA stores always offer a generous return policy. All returns are required within 45 days of purchase with the receipt in its original packaging.
Shitty policy, but they do state it pretty clearly.

make a big stink about it.
create a website how ikeasucks
give em hell
I would be very nice and call the district office (NOT CORPORATE HQ) and see what they can do --
Corporate is going to stand behind their policy of no returns without packaging... Regional may want to just have this go away -- but they ARE either going to take 20% OR give you a GC -- youre not going to get a full refund by cash back....

Another time I realized after I opened and used a few votives from the bag of 100, that half of them were melted.
All I wanted was another bag, they made me wait like a half hour, they counted my entire bag and removed three from the new bag. Then they said those things are always melted and misshaped, most people don't care.
