Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

I just got new glasses this year and paid way over $200.00 for them. No insurance for eye so that was cash. Is this a on going thing they have? Don't know if I need them right now but maybe next year.
Well then you will probably be in luck!! As long as you stay on this site, people always let us know about the great deals!! I got these as a spare, never know what may happen to the first pair.

Glad that worked out! It was an amazing deal & I'm so happy you got in on it! Dabb, did you get yours?
Was that you who posted the link, and they cancelled your order? If so, what ever happened?

Yes, I was the one who alerted you guys here. I had already gotten the deal once, and knew it was awesome. I entered the wrong perscription on my first order by mistake, so I got up at 4:30 am for the next deal. You can only do this deal once, so they cancelled my order!. Might call them & see if I can sneek it in somehow. I just wanted driving glasses, but am still very happy with my first order. I don't even want to tell you how much I paid for the same pair from my eye doc (when I HAD insurance!).

Just curious... besides upgrading to 2GB of memory, does anyone have any other advice/tips for optimizing their Samsung Netbook? (Removing programs, ReadyBoost, etc?)

Thanks!

My last ones from Shopko were $270 and nothing special, just transition lenses. Next time I go to Doc, I am giving different address, in case I ever have a chance to get in on this again!

Thank-you SynGal, I can't use the referral link here at work (proxied/firewalled out) so I'll complete my order when I get home in a few hours.
Glad to help spread the buck-a-zoids around to the Slickdeals folk Smilie

Microsoft denies it, but I have heard from a couple sources that netbooks run a lot faster with an upgraded version on Windows 7 -- that is, the starter edition is somehow deliberately limited in performance. I don't know if Readyboost works for Win7 Starter, but if it does, this is exactly the low-RAM situation it was designed for. I don't know if a SD card stays flush in the netbook -- if it does, a 4GB card would probably make a noticeable difference with Readyboost.

I love my old frames, and shopko had the ones I ordered now, but were $150 for frame alone & I couldn't afford that. These are so cool!! And less than $20
I ordered glasses online this year from Zenni Optical, and the $30 complete glasses I got has frames that look exactly the same as a $450 frame I liked at my eye doctor's. They are a tad heavier, but even the optometrist couldn't notice a difference in looks.

Edited to add:

For those of you getting glasses online -- Optometrists have a professional code of conduct that says that they should do glasses adjustments for anyone (customers or not) for free. I've never had one say no or charge for small stuff like fitting or refitting frames, tightening screws, etc.

Funny part is, the ones I got online fit better than all I have gotten through docs!! Go figure!! Guess I picked a good fitting frame!

I put up 7 collection jugs for the March of dimes for that walk I am doing. Well one place I went to had the jug stolen off the counter. Yet no one who works there knows anything about it.
If you turn it in to the police department they can pull the survaillance video and get them. Happened where my sister works and they knew who was on the video!!

I never like white chocolate or vanilla because I thought they just forgot to add flavor!!! LMAO
I love French vanilla now but I love almond bark. When we were growing up I used to tease my sister that her birthstone didnt have any color and mine was a pretty light green. I guess the joke was on me with that one!!! Diamonds, as it turns out, are way more expensive that peridots!!! LMAO
You're an August baby, too. I never liked the color of peridot when I was younger - always loved rubies. Getting to like peridot better in later years. Never really liked diamonds either and really still don't - how boring no color like you said. My wedding ring has a ruby in it - had them take out the diamond.

Hello All,

News for anyboby who is still waiting on boots from the previous contest. Just receive a real nice ashtray about 5 " arround heavey duty with a leather trim going around it.The letter saysThank you for your participation in the Marlboro Country reward promotion.
This promotion was very popular and orderes for the Resistol Raunch boot by Lucchese exceeded our expectaions Because of this unanticipated demand it will take longer to ship your item then we originally projected. Lucchese is working to get your boots to you as soon as possible; however, due to the hand made nature of the boots, they may not ship untill April 20, 2011.
We apologize for the delay and appreciate your patience. Please except the enclosed ashtray for any inconvenience this delay may have caused. I don't think any body else posted but if they did sorry. I di look back several posts. Just passing the info on.
Thanks for the info. I haven't seen any posts like yours. Guess beggers can't be choosers, but since the bonus gift is an ashtray, kind of would've been nice to have something different for an apology gift. But hey, it's free!
