Hi all,
I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.
Everyone is welcome!
I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.
This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.
So, I hope it catches on !

I see there's a recovery CD, that's cool, I can go right with Linux and still go back to Win7 if I need to without making a backup first. Saves time.
I'll probably start it up in windows, make some bootable Linux stuff, take a look a PinGuy Linux, install that if I like it, if not go for ubuntu/xubuntu. I have a ubuntu netbook edition disc I'll look at, but I'm not keen on the new desktop. Well, I have a couple of days of setting up and configuring and moving stuff ahead of me. Fun stuff.

I got the camera today and the mini bonus ashtray last week.. so I'm all in.. now we just have to find your boots..I would knit ya a pair.. but since I dont knit.. you have a better chance of your boots showin up

So glad you finally got your netbook!! Enjoy the set-up & fiddling with the OS!
As for the netbook, fingers crossed that it gets here today. This is what it said on the UPS tracking page for yesterday:

No idea what the "emergency conditions were, the weather wasn't particularly bad, maybe the truck broke down? Well, the tracking page says it's on the truck for delivery today so hopefully I won't have to wait much longer

I'm waiting for the $50 MasterCard I won from Dentyne and I'll use that to by the 2gb stick, so for the time being I'm on the stock 1gb. Ubuntu Netbook is pretty light so it shouldn't be an issue for most things. I'm going to need to add to the PPA/repositories list because one of the first things I want to do is put Firefox-4 on it, I really like it a lot more than ver 3.
Other than that I'll wait a day or so an see if I'm sticking with Ubuntu Netbook before I start moving everything over.
