Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

thank you ever so much! I wish the techies here would please try this I am sure you would be happy. It worked for me, and I am upgrading now. just hope all goes as it should.

from what my husband found, on wiki, I know, but I am hoping its correct, upgrading to Windows 7 Home Premium the ram max is 4gb on a 32 bit system. so this would allow you to take your ram to 4 gb. which is what samung had told someone here.

neel2004 I repped you for your help in this matter. wish I could rep you more. such a big help. I will keep you in mind to rep again. Big Grin
Intel Atom N455 CPU specs [intel.com]
The CPU used in the netbook can only address 2gb of RAM. On the plus side it supports 64-bit instruction set so you could upgrade your OS to a 64-bit operating system.

That ashtray is too heavy for the packaging, and little bit o' tape they are using. I received mine without the top. They're sending a new one. Hopefully with all these open boxes lately they'll start packaging them more securely.

So to put it in Funny Farm terms, for $64 I can upgrade to a 64-bit operating system, and then upgrade to 4G of ram? Please don't think I am stupid, just a little mentally challenged!

No. RAM isn't just limited by the OS, it's also limited by how much address space the CPU can handle. In this case the CPU can only address 2gb.

And you could also upgrade to a 64-bit OS for free. Wink
I've installed 64-bit Linux and it's working fine.

Ok! My mind is taking all this in, and the scarey part is, I think I am understanding it!! Do you think it is worth it to change OS and upgrade to 4G? I only will be using it for accounting programs and watching an occassional DVD.
