Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

Ok! My mind is taking all this in, and the scarey part is, I think I am understanding it!! Do you think it is worth it to change OS and upgrade to 4G? I only will be using it for accounting programs and watching an occassional DVD.
Re-read my previous post, the netbook won't handle 4gb, only 2gb max [intel.com].

With the uses you describe you are probably fine with what you have.
I'm not sure if Win7 Starter (aka Crippled) handles DVD's the way it ships, but you can always install something like VLC [videolan.org] which will.

Intel Atom N455 CPU specs [intel.com]
The CPU used in the netbook can only address 2gb of RAM. On the plus side it supports 64-bit instruction set so you could upgrade your OS to a 64-bit operating system.

thank you, yes you are correct. thanks for showing me my error. better now than after my husband decided to upgrade the ram to 4 now if he really wants to, he can just do 2gb.
thanks for saving me a big head ache.

thank you ever so much! I wish the techies here would please try this I am sure you would be happy. It worked for me, and I am upgrading now. just hope all goes as it should.

from what my husband found, on wiki, I know, but I am hoping its correct, upgrading to Windows 7 Home Premium the ram max is 4gb on a 32 bit system. so this would allow you to take your ram to 4 gb. which is what samung had told someone here.

neel2004 I repped you for your help in this matter. wish I could rep you more. such a big help. I will keep you in mind to rep again. Big Grin
It should work with no problem as long as you have an internet connection.

While Home Premium can take up to 4GB RAM, we are hardware limited to 2 GB by the fact that the motherboards for Atom processors can take 2GB max per slot, and this computer only has one RAM slot.
