Hi all,

I started this thread for anyone who wants to come here for lite discussion, jokes, and just general discussion and fun.

Everyone is welcome!

I was thinking that maybe it would be helpful to keep the original thread to a bit more of a serious discussion of the clues and answers.

This would make the original thread more useful to those seeking serious information and clues without having to read through hundreds of extraneous messages.

So, I hope it catches on !

So pop a beer and pull up a chair and relax !

Cool, thanks. You should just be able to copy and paste (ctrl-C/ctrl-V) between programs.

As far as I can determine everyone is having the problem. At least one person said they were able to use a 4gb SDHC card and it worked. Many have said that the 8gb card works in other devices. And a few folks have said that regular SD cards (less than 2gb) work fine in the netbook. As far as I know everyone has had this issue using Windows 7 (I don't think anyone has tried it under XP), except for me, I tried it with Ubuntu Linux and have the same issue, sees the card, says it needs to be formatted, can't format it.
So maybe they will work on it for us. I guess I explained it properly to them then. I do not have a blank 2 gb card to reformat. You would think they would have checked this before sending them out. If I do not get a response within a week or so, maybe others should call them at that time. I told him I talk with a group of people who also won these, and they all have problems. He said that we will just deal with my problem for now and I made sure he took a record of it. AND, he also said we WILL HAVE TO REGISTER ONLINE so we do not lose our year guarantee, just like Jules said. But we have to wait. So, if anyone is able to register in the near future, let us know when they have our netbooks online please.

I might just get a sleeve and carry the other stuff in my suitcase, as Jules mentioned. I'm going to go to some stores and look around for ideas. I always debate a lot with myself before I buy most things.
I'd check out the one at Wal-Mart. It doesn't seem too big - has the compartments Jules mentioned and handles (no shoulder strap). Comes with the baby mouse - optical with scroll wheel - plugs in USB with retractable cord. Definitely worth looking at. Again, by Targus.

Can of rotel can of Del Monte petite cut tomatoes (drained) slice up some oninons and add lemon juice. Don't use the generic petite tomatoes i tried them and bad. I use the mild rotel and still spicey, but if you like real spicy use the regular rotel, and I just use the plastic container of lemon unless you can get the real lemons cheaper.
I will try that..Thank You..I alway's keep can's of Rotel.I will probably just get a plastic bottle of lemon... Smilie

I will keep trying and let everyone know when we are able to register. When I called she tried and was upset that our computer wasn't listed yet. And like I said she figured 2 weeks it should be us for registration. We will see.

IBM moved into our city awhile back. You can almost always tell an IBM employee here because he/she walks around town with a backpack rather than a computer case. I was thinking of just getting a bigger purse.

You guys keep talking about a retractable cord. The mouse is corded? Not wireless?

Cool. Please keep us informed. I'll be on my own as Linux isn't supported by them on the netbook, but the fact that the same problem happens on two completely different operating system leads me to stick with my guess that it isn't a driver issue and that it will take a BIOS flash to fix it.

I am 3 out of 4, and love tools! I have climbed poles with spikes as well as ladders, and you really do learn to respect the tool you are working with. My partner gaffed out, 20' up, and the gaff went right into his ankle!
Ouch! I can do ladders to a point. Once you get on those extension ladders and they start bouncing, that's when I get a bit nervous.

I'll check Walmart, Staples, and BestBuy, not necessarily in that order. I appreciate everyone's help.

yes but it retracts down to nothing and you pull it out when you need to use it. It's cool but the big thing I liked is the padding to protect the netbook.

Yep, 32' extension ladder, and was straight up on some really high poles. Strapped yourself to the ladder at the top. Fun, but scarey. Especially when you were on a tilted area and had to put a board or rock under one foot to keep it more stable!

Don't need the mouse, but case sounds cool. I will have to check it out
