RETIRED: Marlboro Outwit the West Funny Farm

UPDATE ON NETBOOK CARD PROBLEM - I waited almost a week and called Samsung back. They advised that the tech has not yet figured out the problem. I asked what can any possible outcome be from the best to the worst scenarios. He said he heard they may replace the cards, send a link, or have us send them back for repair. I was not happy. I called Marlboro and apologized for bothering them. The rep apologized repeatedly to me. Transferred me to Bernadette (remember her? she helped a lot of us to redo our points to upgrade our prizes). She said Marlboro has gotten quite a few calls on the card problem and she would forward my info to the dept. there working on it. I told her that the only reason I was calling Marlboro was that I thought they paid for these and would have more influence on getting Samsung to move along on this. Further told her that we all love our netbooks and feel that they should work properly. I apologized to her and she could not have been nicer, said I was not a bother, and Marlboro is truly sorry for any inconvenience. I told her it would not be a good thing for us to have to return all these for repair - back and forth again with UPS. She agreed.
For my own use - I have a card reader adapter that fits in the USB port - I have been afraid to try that - has anyone tried to see if that works?
Marlboro said they will contact me soon and so did Samsung. I have more faith in Marlboro. Just waiting now.

I'll go change it now. It is amazing how they get in.

If anyone knows what I could have happening, could you please write me. One one of my AOL names, I am getting emails from me to me. People who I have not corresponded with in a few years have written to me today saying how happy they were to hear from me. I run Spybot weekly and have Norton. They both take out low risk spyware. I also got notified that 5 emails that I sent (and I did not send them) were returned by Mailer Deamon. Thanks.

You are welcome. Do a lot of people who got the netbook have this same problem or just a few?

I just got my netbook yesterday, and I remember seeing a lot of talk about it coming installed with excess programs and some other issue. I wasn't really paying a great deal of attention at the time because I didn't yet have the netbook so the conversation didn't really make sense. I tried to find the posts, but they were a loooong time ago!

Could anyone take a quick second to update me about the issue? I read the post above about Samsung and Marlboro and fixing the problem, but I don't know what the problem is?

Also, there were a lot of extra programs pre-installed. I remember someone saying the computer was slow and deleting a lot of these programs would help. Does anyone know which programs are absolutely essential? Or which can be deleted?

We have 4 netbbooks with cards and none of them will work together.
Have tried numerous ways to format - no luck
Cards will work though in any other laptops or desktops I've tried them in (6 different) All work fine with no problems. Will also work in a couple of cameras I've tried them in.
Funny thing is that I can use the card in a usb adapter reader (plugged into our netbooks and it works fine that way. Other similar cards have all worked fine in the netbooks. Obviously this card and the Samsung netbooks we received are not compatible. My guess is that this puzzle will be solved long before we receive our boots.

The only thing we've yet to get shipping notices on is the jerky. Do they send shipping notices out when they send the jerky? It seems like a long time to wait for something like this....
