In Guam, it's 5:55 pm Friday...they say wave could hit as early as 7:09 pm (just over an hour) EEK!
linly [guampdn.com]

They're telling people to stay at 50ft above sea level. My hotel room is on the 7th floor, so I should be ok. laugh out loud

You might want to check with the front desk if you're along the beach. When the Tsunami hit the coastline in Japan, it took multiple story buildings out, looked like there wasn't anything left standing along the coast.

Yeah, that's what they were showing live on CNN earlier. The video doesn't show it but CNN showed that wave hitting the coast where it took an entire town out and it just kept going inland for miles.

It's the same here. California is just as earthquake prone as Japan. What happened there could happen here. Could? Will. It's a matter of time. I hope more Californians put togther BoBs. My friends think I'm crazy for doing it. This is why.
What are BoBs?

Dude, I think they mean 50ft of solid ground. Not just a building.

Bug out Bags. Basically a backpack with 3 days or more of everything you need to survive that you can just grab and run with.

emlvee, grab your stuff, some blankets and anything else usefull, all the bottled water you can find, clean out the mini bar and snacks, and head for the hills. Pray Stay safe my friend. I would not trust the hotel to survive, boats, vehicles, and debri are battering rams.

Ahhh, the are called 72 hour kits around here. We have those too.

Upgraded to warning. The beaches and piers are announced to be closed at 5am. Waves are estimated to arrive during the 8am hour.

If Guam gets a tsunami, it figures this would happen while I'm on Guam for the first time in my life...I leave Guam early Saturday morning (local time) and will be in Hawaii Friday evening (layover on my way home). I haven't checked the estimated time for any tsunami on Guam or Hawaii (I assume they can calculate that Dontknow ).
