So, I had to go get my emissions inspection this morning. My car's been in the shop until yesterday, so I haven't had the chance (and I need that before I can renew my tag, which expires today).

The dude seemed like he was bothered to have to do a test so early. Quite agitated. In his hurry to get me in and out, he seemed to have missed that I have an AWD vehicle and tried to run the test on his 2WD dyno. Needless to say, this did not work... And traction control started kicking in and locking things up...

Now, I'm hoping this farkhead did not just tear up my transmission that I just got fixed. I did some reading and apparently there's a high probability doing that can destroy the differential. He should know better. The last test I had, they did the idle test without hesitation (let it idle, get it up to ~2500 RPMs, measure the emissions). No dyno involved. I guess my consolation is that they will wind up paying for it if repairs have to be done.

Ugh. Great way to start the day. Mad
That is strange. I just got mine done early in January and they just let it idle while they were plugged into the ODB-II port. Took like 30 seconds. Hope things work out! But you're right in that if things are screwed up then they'll definitely have to pay to get it fixed.

When I was in GA they always did it at an idle with their computer plugged in to the ODB port. Absolutely stupid that emission tests have to be done. Mad

I know it's wrong, but stories like this [theblaze.com] make me smile a little bit.

Police who had been called to the area then tried to apprehend Moradi, who hurled a grenade to defend himself. "But somehow it bounced back" and blew off his legs, Pansiri said.

Photos of the wounded Iranian showed him covered in dark soot on a sidewalk strewn with broken glass. He lay in front of a Thai primary and secondary school. No students were reported wounded.

When I was a kid, there were days we couldn't play outside because of smog alerts.

Same here, but then my dad would tell me about how they use to run behind the trucks driving down the road spraying mosquito killer when he was a kid. Then he'd tell me to get back outside and suck it up.
