So i had a bronco and a minivan this time last year. I bought a sedan, moved to another city, and then sold my bronco. My former city has my new address, but decides not to send my tax bills there. They just get their tax bills returned to them even though I have my mail forwarded. So they tax me on all three vehicles for the first half of the year. That's fine. I lived in that city for some of the first half of the year, and I'm not taxed by the new city at all this year. So I paid them for the three vehicles. Then they send me "final notices" for the second half of the year for all three vehicles! Mad

First of all, the second half of the year I didn't live there. Second, they never sent me a first or second notice because they only bothered to send the final notice to my new address. They tell me i have to pay because i moved to a county that doesn't prorate taxes so I have to pay them. WTF? Okay. So I pay for the two vehicles I currently own. I sold the bronco in march of last year. I send them a letter saying the vehicle wasn't in my possession for 10 of the 12 months of the year so I don't owe on the vehicle since it wasn't in that city or owned by me.

Then I receive a letter saying pay us the $10 or we'll see you in court. They said that if I had sold it before I moved, I wouldn't owe, but since I moved to a non-prorated county and sold it the next week that I owe on it for the whole year to the city I no longer live in. Yet another reason I moved out of there. Blowup

Was $10 a typo? They'd take you to court for $10? Ermm
