No....It's one of the Valentine's ones that sing when you press the foot. It sings the song that goes, "oh baby youuuuuu, youuuu got what I need but you say he's just a friend."

It bothers me that my MIL treats her grandkids differently. My nephew (3 years) lives with her and she mostly takes care of him. She babies him and does way more stuff for him than she does the other kids. She used to watch Becca every once in a while but now she rarely does. She makes up excuses to not watch her. My mom is the go-to baby sitter now.

I think it shows too...because now Becca is more affectionate towards my mom. She cries when we leave and wants Grandma to come along. With Miguel's mom she gets shy and is kinda aloof.

Oh and she has sticky fingers. She took one of my eyeliners. :sigh:

I know the feeling, my MIL treats one of our kids differently than the other one. Real nice.

I can understand that if one grandkid lives with her, he would be treated differently than the others... but that doesn't mean she shouldn't have a normal grandparent role for the others.

I have a friend who's mother is remarried and having a second family simultaneously with her 2 oldest daughters. She doesn't act like a grandma at all to her grandkids. She went to visit her mom and the mom was happy that she wasn't bringing her kid along.

Does you kid realize it? What does she do?

He's her favorite and sometimes acts like a little brat because he knows he can get away with stuff. He tries to bully Rebecca but she wont let him and fights back. Unless we're there then she runs to daddy.

That's sad. Poor kids Frown

I'm glad my mom is very affectionate with both her grandkids and doesn't treat them differently.

They (FIL too) generally dote on the older one more and pay her more attention.
I think the younger one is a bit more like me in that she either doesn't notice or it hasn't occurred to her to care.

I think it's harder on my friend than it is on her son. Her dad also died just a few weeks before her son was born so he's not there to be grandpa either.

For the son's part, he has his paternal grandparents who dote on him. He won't really have a maternal grandma (at least in the traditional sense) but he has a uncle and aunt close to him in age that he might be really close with. She and her mom both have a boy, then a girl, really close in age. The mom's was just born this week and my friend is due in about a month.

My grandpa was the youngest of like 13 kids, I think. So he had a nephew the same age as him that is still his best friend.

My friend is celebrating his birthday this weekend. There is an event on facebook with this photo:

I jokingly said that i'm going to put lit candles in his beer just like the picture. I intend to actually do this now. How do I go about putting candles in his beer?

Thanks

That'll work or try to see if you can find some of those scrapbooking glue dots and adhere them to the side of the glass.

GL on that one lil buddy. Roll

Frown

DD has had a swollen eye since Sunday. The yesterday I noticed that it was kind purplish like she got hit. Hubby took her to the doctor today and he said it might be a urinary infection or she's anemic. Frown He's running a blood test.

Use that to stick them to the side of the glass.
