Resolved: Stop using and other redirects please?

There are a lot of folks posting external site urls that have embedded/hidden in the link. Where do we stand on this type of thing?

If you go to you are redirected (Commission Junction) which is a $/click marketing company. This is typically found in any Newegg deal, or similar redirects are posted in Front-page links (clicking comments and then the link from the discussion/OP is different) Some other sites are:,, etc.

I don't like the idea of clicking on links that take me to anywhere but directly to the site described and I know there are at least a couple of other members that feel the same way.

As I am savvy enough to edit my hosts file in Windows, the domain is blocked, and I always need to copy the URL, edit, paste, and then go. Can we make people's lives easier/less invasive?

Is there a way to get the link without disabling it? I'm more willing to switch deals sites than my mega-hosts file.
Deal with it man. if you leave, no one is gonna miss ya!

The only time it bothers me is when I'm at work, but I click reply and copy and paste. Works about 90% of the time.

Can you guys just switch it to be generated in client-side javascript like other sites? That way those that use ad-blockers and content filters can use the site as they were going to use it anyways. And those that don't use content blockers will continue to generate your revenues.

These links simply DO NOT work for me. When I encounter these links I visit the mentioned site and find the item on sale manually.

Or can someone recommend a better deals site?

If anybody is having problems accessing some deals, you will want to DELETE, or COMMENT OUT, the following lines from your /etc/hosts file...

(I'm sure Windows has a similar file or registry setting, but I'm not exactly sure where that is....)
