I affirm that I am, and he shows me his CAC card, and it says O-2 on it. So I'm like, "How are you doing, sir?" and obviously looking very perplexed... One of my sergeants is standing over in civvies trying to hold back laughter just because it's so freakin awkward. The officer says I don't have to call him "sir", and he tells me some pointless story I don't remember... I walked away and decided it'd be a good idea to go buy some civvies and change. We were just like "Why the fark did he come up to us? What was the point in that? Why did he have to flash his ID around to show he's an officer?"
They're ACUs, dear. Because we go into combat.
