One of the other forums I go to has one of these threads and I've been turned on to some good movies that other regulars just watched. I was kind of surprised not to see a similar thread here (at least not that I could find.) Big Grin

I just rewatched "Kinamand" - a cute drama about a Danish plumber who gets involved in an arranged marriage with a Chinese illegal. Good stuff (Netflix instant.)

So what have you folks watched recently?

Inception - I know, I'm a bit late...
I just got it from Netflix yesterday, and still haven't watched it... if that makes you feel any better.

Secret The kids end up beating the Russian forces. Something about them yelling "Hedgehogs" over and over.

Hoax or real?
Oh, I'd say it's real - first, because I saw the Andre the Giant has a Posse stickers around Wilmington, NC about 15 years ago and...

I think it isn't really a big enough thing to hoax.

Also, if it were a hoax , I don't think they would have been able to use real Banksy work.

But, anything is possible.

OK we're in the home stretch of Takers and I gotta say, it is action packed and quite humorous laugh out loud Don't pay for this movie though, definitely watch it on free cable nod
I rented that yesterday and watched it last night also. As soon as I started watching it, I thought...."this very closely resembles the movie Heat (DeNiro/Pacino), kinda like a poor man's version of it". After the movie I watched a tiny bit of the making of Takers, and the first thing one of the guys who wrote it said was "so back in 1994 we were watching Heat, and the next day we wrote this movie". Facepalm laugh out loud

Tonight I'm watching Buried.

Haha, yeah critics comparing that movie to Heat and Ocean's 11 is just so wrong. I thought the movie was terrible. LMAO

Now I'm going to Google Buried. woot

I was thinking that there's no way that it's real...Banksy was totally behind the movie and he created the MBW character (intentionally as a total goof but also to expose the commercialism in the popular art world.)

Banksy/MBW used the Obey/Andre the Giant thing, but that was created by Shepard Fairey (the same guy who created/lifted the Obama/Hope design).

Either way - great movie.

Just watched The Social Network and loved it. I couldn't wait for Netflix, so I got it free from Redbox. It ended too fast, I wanted more!

I've got Buried on my queue, hadn't heard of that until I think I saw it mentioned in this thread recently.

Just saw Unthinkable with Sam Jackson. Good movie, a very accurate depiction of what goes on in the real world.

This thread needs the yelp suggestions feature - one that records titles/words used in multiple posts. Anyone agree?

"Never Let Me Go" - A British dystopian film - it was good but could have been great. At first I was reminded a bit of GATTACA, which I loved.
