One of the other forums I go to has one of these threads and I've been turned on to some good movies that other regulars just watched. I was kind of surprised not to see a similar thread here (at least not that I could find.) Big Grin

I just rewatched "Kinamand" - a cute drama about a Danish plumber who gets involved in an arranged marriage with a Chinese illegal. Good stuff (Netflix instant.)

So what have you folks watched recently?

check out my edit, do you know which store i worked at?

as the only female working in a video store with a pr0n room, it got really interesting some nights when i was the only one there and guys wanted to rent pr0n. they got all awkward and wouldn't meet my eyes when they were renting stuff sometimes, so i tried to make it more awkward for them - sometimes i said, "oh, i just rented this one last week, it's really good. she's one of my favorites." Smilie

Yes, I read your edit. Never visited your store. . .blockbuster on Avent Ferry, then whatever the store was in the Harris Teeter shopping center on Blue Ridge/Duraleigh.

I worked in a small town video store, and knew everyone. . .the ones that rented porn may have had a difficult time renting from a teenager. . .

aah yeah i remember that store at Blue Ridge/Duraleigh. they didn't have pr0n. shake head

i worked at my store so long, i knew all the regular customers by name, and the people i worked with were awesome.

I watched "Apocalypse Now" for the third time. It's been a while and I wanted to see if I was missing something during my first two viewings (both the theatrical and Redux versions.) I know that it's sacrilege but I to me it just doesn't live up to the hype (aside from the great cinematography.)

Oh I always noticed, even if they tried to hide it. Because I had to ask if they wanted to rent it for one night or two nights. laugh out loud Plus, they hand me the DVD case and I had to go back to the wall and retrieve the actual DVD. LMAO

Watched The American last night. Not bad, different, a little slow. Not at all an action flick like the trailers make it out to be. Also watched Monsters. Was cool I think just because you knew it was a low budget film but didn't look like it at all. The guy was an idiot though so that didn't help much, and the Monsters didn't eat enough people.

Let Me In - Watched this last night, pretty good and quite creepy! I did not read the book and apparantly there is an original movie that I also have not seen. It was good enough as it was, though from reading the IMDB boards I learned of a few details I would have liked to see the movie address.
