One of the other forums I go to has one of these threads and I've been turned on to some good movies that other regulars just watched. I was kind of surprised not to see a similar thread here (at least not that I could find.) Big Grin

I just rewatched "Kinamand" - a cute drama about a Danish plumber who gets involved in an arranged marriage with a Chinese illegal. Good stuff (Netflix instant.)

So what have you folks watched recently?

Greenburg - Ben Stiller is neurotic.

Yeah, I know....pretty much sums up his career and doesn't really differentiate from any of his other movies. Sorry, not my fault.

My thoughts exactly - leave that gimmick to Woody Allen. I didn't care about his character in Greenberg - we get it, you're a socially awkward wild card.

I didn't even care enough to look up how it's spelled. laugh out loud

Now, I'm watching A Bit of Fry and Laurie (Season 1), which is the first place that Hugh Laurie sang his song, Mystery [youtube.com].

Lyrics:
Mystery
All my life has been a mystery
You and I were never ever meant to be
That's why I call my love for you
a mystery

Different country
You and I have always lived
In a different country
And I know that airline tickets don't grow
On a tree
So what kept us apart is plain for me to see
That much at least
Is not really a mystery

Estuary
I live in a houseboat on an estuary
Which is handy for my work
With the Port Authority
But I know you would have found it
Insanitary
Insanitary

Hated me
I'd be foolish to ignore the possibility
That if we ever actually met
You might have taken a really violent dislike to me
Still that's not the only problem that I can see

Dead since 1993
You've been dead now
Wait a minute let me see
14 years
Come next January
As a human being you are history

So why do I still long for you
Why is my love so strong for you
Why did I write this song for you
Well I guess it's just
A mystery

Was one of the better animation movies I have seen in a long time, next to ToyStory 3 of course. Was really funny throughout and more adult humor oriented. Def. an enjoyable watch.

Any recommendations on a ghost horror movie? The last one I watched was Epitaph and the Tale of Two Sisters, both Korean, which scared me poopless and wanting more. I was a a horror buff in college but haven't watched anything since those two.

I did watch Paranormal Activity 2, but I consider it a comedy. heh

"Lovely, Still" - A romantic drama with Martin Landau. I'm glad I went into this film having no idea what it was about. Pretty good.
Great movie!

"The Red Riding" trilogy - BBC TV cop/corruption drama. Incredibly well done and well acted for a TV movie. I liked all three of them a lot.

"The Killers" (1964) - Lee Marvin was a complete badass - the movie was pretty good.

It's Complicated - I have a thing for Baldwin.

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps - Didn't finish it. Poor casting, bad timing with real-life financial fallout, and lacking power suits and suspenders. One of the things that made "Wall Street" so great was lines like, "Don't cross Gordon, Bud. He'll crush you."

Hollywoodland - About the mysterious death of Superman actor George Reeves. It was okay but there were far more interesting Hollywood mysteries/scandals.

Very well made movie. All the actors are fitting and Fincher keeps the suspense moving until the end. 8.5/10

DH isn't thrilled at all with the Netflix I have arriving today!

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World - Not sure this is something I'll enjoy, but I enjoy Michael Cera, so I'm giving it a try

How to Be - Before Robert Pattinson was a vampire in Twilight, he actually had other roles. I'm queuing some of his movies up since I liked him in Twilight series and Remember Me.

L.I.E. (Long Island Expressway) - After enjoying The Extra Man, I looked up Paul Dano, and found this film.
