DH will absolutely LOVE it, and you for making it. nod Have you ever tried to explain to someone, exactly how to "fold" egg whites into a cake batter? It almost defies description. I think you have to see it being done properly to understand.
Definitely. I was lucky to be able to watch my mom do all that stuff when I was little. She was always a fantastic baker. She was always a good cook, but she really excelled in the desserts.

Also there's tons of good cooking shows on TV that teach some really great techniques. I love America's Test Kitchen. drool

EEK!

I actually got my lazy but out 3 times this weekend for a ride...

1st rode home from the Car Repair shop...DW's car only had a tiny bit of freon and was not getting cold at all...
2nd ride was to go pick up the car...only had 1/4 pound of freon (R12) and should have 1 1/2 pounds of it...

both of those rides were about 5 miles each...

then Sunday I went for a ~15 mile ride around west Roseville.

Well we did ride right by it on the way to get the car...my ds2 rode out with me and I had to remove his front tire to shove his bike in the trunk...the mechanic was nice enough to lend me a 15 MM to take the rim off...oh how nice Quick Release Hubs are!!!

I wound up taking him out to the Performance store and getting ds2 some new riding shorts...he has the kids Performance brand shorts...but the chamois in them is almost nothing...so now he's got some real riding shorts...too bad we had to do like several other parents do and get him womans small so they fit ok...I think the next pair he gets will be men's small since the womans sizes run smaller then the men's.

At least he's still young enough that it's not an issue that they happen to be girls shorts.

Tonight he want's to go for a ride and try them out after I get home from work.

R12? You must have some fairly old rides.

'89 Yota Corrolla 4 door...with fuel being $3.50~ $4/gal...it's a lot less then the Van (that needs a 700 dollar A/C compressor...that probably uses R34).
