I don't use FB that much anymore either. I'm starting to like google plus so much more.
Most everyone has to be... "refined" (for a lack of a better term) to a certain extent in their day to day lives. And it seems that because of this, many of them let their "crazy" out on the forums, much more than they would in person.
It's not planned or anything, it just happens. No one has to worry much about how they're perceived, and many people don't care at all. So they just kind of... let it "all hang out."

But yeah, I agree. Plus I think a lot also depends on how you read the posts. I read posts with the thought of everyone being happy people with high-pitched voices.. which would be awesome if it's true
