if it tastes burnt you can take a couple tablespoons of the fat and make the gravy in another pan. another pan to clean, but at least it'll be harder to burn. .

So gravy is really just grease and flour. That's kind of nasty when you think about it. I'm glad I don't really care for it that much.

No, it's mostly milk. You don't need much of the grease, just a few tablespoons, and you just add the flour so it'll thicken.

I'll use a few tablespoons of the drippings and flour, but several cups of milk.

That's not as bad, but I'm still glad I really don't care for it.

I never really ate it before I got married. Dh likes it so I buy the canned or pouch for him. I think I'm going to give up gravy. I will not eat the stuff his mom makes. It's chunky. What's up with chunky gravy Yuk? To me it looks like throw up.

Eeewww canned gravy? I didn't even know there was such a thing. Sick

Lumpy gravy usually occurs when the flour isn't mixed in properly.

its pretty much thickened with it, but almost all sauces are thickened with a mix of fat and starch. butter+ flour is also very common
