Sweepstakes begins at 12:00:01 AM CT on October 3, 2011 and ends at 11:59:59 PM CT on October 31, 2011.
Open only to legal residents of the lower 48 United States and the District of Columbia who are at least eighteen (18) years of age.

Limit of one (1) entry per email address per day.
On Friday, October 7; Friday, October 14; Friday, October 21 and Friday, October 28, Sponsor will select one potential winner in a random drawing (using Random.org) of all entries to date to receive a prize. On or about Tuesday, November 1, Sponsor will select one potential grand prize winner in a random drawing of all entries.
Prizes:
Four (4) winners will receive four (4) First Alert Combination Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Voice Alarms (model SC07CN-C) (Approximate Retail Value "ARV": $259.96).
One (1) grand prize winner will receive a "great escape" prize package to Chicago, which will include:
• Airfare
Roundtrip airfare for a family of up to four (4) from the lower 48 United States or District of Columbia to either Chicago O'Hare International (ORD) or Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW) for any arrival and departure date between November 8, 2011 and April 30, 2012. Airfare includes roundtrip coach airfare for (4) people from the major metropolitan airport nearest to the winner's home (as determined by the Sponsor). Airfare is non-transferable and non-refundable. In the case that the grand prize winner lives within 200 miles of Chicago and prefers to drive his or her own vehicle, Sponsor will provide the grand prize winner with a gas card for value up to $150.
• Accommodations
Accommodations for four (4) for up to no more than two (2) days and two (2) nights at a preferred hotel in Chicago selected from a list provided by Sponsor. Room will sleep four (4) people. Accommodations must be between November 8, 2011 and April 30, 2012.
• Entertainment
Sponsor will provide grand prize winner with a $300 gift certificate to The Chicago Firehouse restaurant. Sponsor also will provide a $300 gift certificate to The Lookingglass Theatre to see either "The Great Fire" running through November 20 or a production of choice.
Grand prize winner agrees to communicate preferred dates of travel by February 1, 2012. All costs associated with prize receipt and use, including, without limitation, taxes, hotel services, ground transportation, tips or other meals are the sole responsibility of winner. Airfare and hotel subject to availability. Blackout dates may apply. The details of all prizes not specified above will be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. ARV: $4,500. Guests of winner must be a spouse, domestic partner and children/wards of winner.

Contest Commemorates Fire Prevention Week with a Grand Prize Trip to Chicago
In recognition of Fire Prevention Week (October 9-15), First Alert is offering its Facebook fans the chance to "escape" to the place where it all began – Chicago, home to First Alert and site of the 1871 Great Chicago Fire, the impetus behind the national observation.
First Alert's "The Great Escape" sweepstakes will award one lucky family with a prize package including roundtrip airfare and hotel accommodations for four to experience some of the "hottest" attractions that the Windy City has to offer. In keeping with the sweepstakes' fire prevention theme, the prize package also will include dinner at the Chicago Firehouse Restaurant and tickets to the Lookingglass Theatre's production of "The Great Fire."
To enter, participants must simply "like" First Alert on Facebook between October 3 and October 31, then register to enter. Existing fans may enter by clicking the sweepstakes tab. Participants may enter once per day.
The sweepstakes is part of a month-long campaign being conducted by First Alert to educate consumers about residential fire prevention and, in particular, the importance of having and practicing a fire escape plan.
